Six Planets in Aries - Fire in the Sky

This April brings us a powerful triple conjunction of Mercury, Mars and Saturn in the fiery sign of Aries on April 20. While conjunctions of Mercury and Mars usually happen once a year, and Mars Saturn conjunctions happen every two years, it is rare to have all three together. It is also important to note that Neptune is close to this conjunction, being only a few degrees away, so could be considered to be part of the conjunction too. In fact from April 14 - 19 we have five planets (Sun, Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Neptune) in the sign of Aries. There's also a New Moon in Aries on the 17, making a total of six planets in Aries!

Astro Codes Oracle

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and is associated with youthfulness, optimism, new beginnings, leadership and taking action. It is ruled by the planet of war, Mars, so is also associated with aggression, the military, sports and fire, explosions and violence. When used in a positive way, this can bring courage and action to our lives that allows us to make new starts or to break free of difficulty. When not used carefully, this much Aries energy can bring accidents, aggression and even an escalation of conflicts and war.

We started April with the Sun in Aries as it always is at this time of year. We also have both Neptune and Saturn which recently moved into the sign and formed an exact conjunction on February 20th. As Saturn and Neptune are only a few degrees apart, they are still considered to be affecting each other. Neptune is about our collective dreams and ideals, and in Aries the themes of heroism, idealizing war, self-sufficiency, individualism, fitness and masculinity become prominent. The last time Neptune was in Aries was the 1860s, a time when the cowboy and pioneer were seen as ideals. However, this is also a time when war was idealized, and that image of heroism was shattered when the new technology of photography showed how brutal war really was. Saturn in Aries is also a time when there is more emphasis on the military and war, as Saturn is an organizing planet, so it favours the hierarchy and structure of the military.

On April 09 Mars moves into his home sign of Aries bringing a sense of action and forward momentum, but also aggression and even potentially violence. In the wider world, I am expecting to see an escalation or widening of existing conflicts, or even new ones emerging. In our own lives, remember that this week is volatile so avoid risky behaviors, or reacting in anger or starting a fight as it may become bigger than you anticipated. Mars conjoins Neptune on April 12, bringing delusion and misinformation into the picture. There may be confusion and even deception around a military action or violence. In our personal lives it is important now to wait until you have all the information before you act as you may be reacting to false information or blaming the wrong person for something they didn't do.

Mercury joins the Aries party on April 14. As the planet of communication and travel he brings some much needed directness and clarity to our communications after spending almost two months in imaginative but vague Pisces. We may also find that we are making more short trips and getting more errands done. The danger of Mercury in Aries is we can be too blunt or even a little cutting in our words, so try to slow down and think before speaking. Mercury then joins up with Neptune on April 16. Mercury and Neptune is about misinformation and deception, and in Aries this may show up as people deliberately trying to mislead others or take advantage of confusion. With the New Moon in Aries on April 17 I expect to see the start of some kind of aggressive action on the world stage, and the conjunction of Mercury and Neptune close to this brings in an element of surprise or even a false flag event.

April 19 and 20 are the most intense days, as on Mars conjoins Saturn on the 19th and then Mercury joins both planets on the 20th. Mars and Saturn are opposite energies with Mars wanting to speed things up and Saturn wanting to restrict and slow things down. This has been compared to having one foot on the gas and one on the brake. It can bring frustration as we try to take action and move forward while other forces hold us back.  As this is in the sign of Aries, Mars had the upper hand but will not get its way without resistance. Add Mercury into the mix and there is the potential for angry words leading to violence or for fiery disasters. In our own lives it cautions us against knee jerk reactions, losing our temper or trying to force things to go a certain way. Doing so now could have disastrous consequences.

Please note this is not all doom and gloom, rather a warning that the period of April 09 - 20 is somewhat volatile, so you can avoid the more negative possibilities like deception, or losing our tempers, or aggression and accidents. It is also to prepare you that this time period may see more difficult developments in the wider world. After the 19th things cool down with the Sun moving into earthy and pleasure-loving Taurus. Mercury and Mars will start moving away from their conjunctions with each other and the slower moving Saturn and Neptune. If anything, try to use the Aries energy of this time to bring courage and action into areas that you may have felt stuck or that you have doubts and fears about.

Saturn Conjunct Neptune - World Changing Events

On February 13 2026, Saturn enters Aries, where he will be until April of 2028. Saturn changes sign every two and a half years or so, and shows us where we need to work hard, be disciplined and where we may find more restrictions or things slowing down. Saturn takes 28 - 30 years to make his way around the zodiac, so the last time he was in this sign was April 1996 - February 1999. What's different about this go round is that Saturn will be meeting up with Neptune on February 20, something that only happens every 36 years.

Astro Codes Oracle

Saturn and Neptune have very opposite energies. While Saturn is about rules, structures and reality checks, Neptune is about our collective dreams, ideals and illusions. Saturn is the rocky fortress, and Neptune is the waves that crash against it. When the two planets meet up in a conjunction, Neptune dissolves the structures that Saturn has so carefully built. Think back to the last time this happened in 1989, in the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is about boundaries, walls and physical structures. In 1989 an actual physical wall, the Berlin Wall came down. Along with it the Eastern European countries broke away from communism and the Soviet Union collapsed. A structure and a dream we always thought would be there disappeared.

This time the Saturn, Neptune conjunction is at 0 degrees of Aries. This very important as this is the start of the zodiac. The shift that we are seeing is not just once every 36 years but extremely unusual and marks the start of a whole new era. It is important to keep in mind that there may not be dramatic events right on the day, but perhaps either leading up to or shortly after. It may also start as something small that becomes much bigger over time. Whether it is in our face or gradual, we will look back at this time as one of profound change. Below are the top 5 themes I see as likely to emerge during this conjunction.

  1. Things Fall Apart. When Saturn and Neptune meet up, things we took for granted can disappear. Saturn likes stability and rules, but Neptune comes in to clear the slate and wash things away. Often this is long overdue, as the structures Saturn built may appear solid from the outside, but have been rotting on the inside for a while.  The Soviet Union projected an image of a superpower, but with its military over expanded, its economy on shaky foundations and with corruption and lack of public trust, it collapsed quickly when people in Eastern Europe stood up to it. The Saturn Neptune conjunction often coincides with major power shifts in Russia (Fall of Berlin Wall 1989, Death of Stalin 1953, Russian Revolution 1917). It remains to be seen if this pattern continues. This time around it appears to be the US that is crumbling in the same manner as the USSR. How this falls out we will have to see. But one thing is for sure, something we thought would last, will dissolve.

  2. Chaos and Confusion. When something falls apart, it is inevitable that something new will emerge from the ashes. This Saturn Neptune conjunction is in the fiery sign of Aries. This makes me wonder if we will see something literally burning up or exploding, or if this represents a sudden quick breakdown. After the last conjunction in 1989, there was a period where things were uncertain in the former Soviet Union and Eastern European countries. No one knew what would come next, what would replace the old structures. With Saturn co present with Neptune in Aries until April 2028, I expect the next two years to be ones marked by some uncertainty.

  3. A Spell in Broken. Neptune represents our collective ideals and dreams, but also our illusions. When he meets up with Saturn, it can be as if a fog lifts off of us and we see things as they truly are. For a moment we get a glimpse behind the curtain and see that the emperor has no clothes, or that the wizard's power is all smoke and mirrors. We are seeing this now with the revelations of the Epstein files. We are seeing how the billionaire class acts with impunity and how a shady network of spies use and exploit the vulnerable to coerce politicians and advance their masters' power.

  4. Religious Paranoia. An interesting correlation with Saturn in Neptune is the fear of secret societies or cults. At the last conjunction, we had the height of the "Satanic Panic" which turned out to be false, but led to people being accused of child abuse and losing their jobs or even going to jail. In 1953 we had the McCarthy ear and the Red Scare, where people feared communism was everywhere. There was also an aspect of this during the 1917 conjunction when there was a fear of anarchists and communists. Today we are seeing a repeat of this in the US with evangelical groups seeing secular culture as evil and defining politics as spiritual warfare.

  5. A Chance to Dream a New Dream. All this talk of things falling apart, and illusions being dispelled can be scary. When the old rules don't apply anymore, it gives us a chance to re-imagine something new. No longer are we stuck in a rut, or able to use the excuse that nothing will ever change. When the old and outdated are swept away, we have the opportunity to dream a new dream and start fresh again. Lets hope this time, we can replace it with something better for everyone.

As we consider the Saturn Neptune conjunction, I want to place it in the context of the other astrology this year. Firstly, this occurs during eclipse season, as we have a Solar Eclipse on Feb.17 and a Lunar Eclipse on March 03. Eclipses are often associated with rise and fall of leaders, and with hidden information being revealed. This adds another layer to this historic aspect. We also have Uranus moving into Gemini in April, where he will be until 2033. Uranus in Gemini has previously coincided with the US being at war, both internally (the Civil War) and externally (WW2). All these factors seem to be pointing towards big changes not just for the US, but the world. What are your thoughts about the upcoming Saturn Neptune conjunction?

Saturn Conjunct Neptune - When Structures Dissolve

This July we see one of the most important transits of the year, Saturn conjoining Neptune in the sign of Aries. The two planets will not from an exact conjunction until February 20, 2026, however from July 15 - 17 they will be only 1 degree apart. This is a very slow moving transit, so we are going to see its effect not only on these days. It is important to note that these two planets will be close to each other throughout 2024 - 2027, so these themes will be in play for a while. Saturn is the planet of rules, structures, boundaries and traditions, while Neptune is about dissolving boundaries, a sense of oneness, idealism, fantasy and delusion. When the two planets meet every 36 years, we often see structures and norms we took for granted dissolve and disappear. On a positive note, this can be about breaking something down in the hopes of building something new and better for the future.

Astro Codes Oracle

The last time Saturn and Neptune were exactly conjunct was in 1989, although they were very close through 1988 - 1990. This cojunction was in the sign of Capricorn, which is about government, large organizations and literal walls. This conjunction saw the dissolving of the Iron Curtain and the fall of the Berlin Wall. It also led to the end of the Soviet Union, once one of the most powerful countries in the world, something that seemed impossible just a few short years before. Saturn and Neptune conjunctions often take us by surprise as what seemed so sturdy and solid (Saturn) just seems to vanish overnight (Neptune). Things end with a whimper, rather than a bang, and we are left to try to build something new out of the remnants.

The time before that was in 1952 - 53, in the sign of Libra.  Libra is about balance, harmony, fairness, and diplomacy.  In 1953 Stalin died, changing the Soviet Union's leadership. Under Stalin millions of people died, due to his purges, campaigns of starvation and sending citizens to the gulag. His death in 1953 led to hope for change in the Soviet Union and more moderate leadership. After his death some of the citizen's rights, like women's rights, which had rolled back under Stalin, moved forward again. In China there was the end of the Korean War and the first of the 5 year plans, to try to industrialize the country. Both countries saw massive changes in how their society was organized. This was also the early stages of the Cold War with the world being divided between being allied with either the Soviet Union or the United States, between capitalism and communism. The world was divided between the two ends of the scales.

The one we are experiencing now, is in the sign of Aries, which is about independence, leadership, individuality and war. Structures that we took for granted will disappear, leaving us to have to potentially be more independent and self reliant. As Aries is about leadership and warrior energy, we may see prominent leaders either die, retire or be overthrown. We may also see armies dissolve or organizations that once seemed all powerful fragment and crumble. Often with Saturn Neptune conjunctions, these changes seem to come out of nowhere and things end in surprising ways. It's like what we once believed in so passionately and took for granted, suddenly we just don't anymore.

The last time we had a Saturn Neptune conjunction in Aries was in 1702. That year saw the death of England's King William III and Queen Anne come to the throne. It was also start of the War of the Spanish Succession, in which England and the Dutch declared war against France and Spain. They were later that year joined by the Holy Roman Empire (Germany) in their war against the French and Spanish. This war featured several prominent naval battles, which makes me wonder if this theme will re-emerge again this time around. In North America the Queen Anne's War was fought (also known as the Second French Indian War). This was a war between the English and French along with their Indigenous allies. France and England were the two emerging super powers at the time, (Spain was in decline). This time around will we see declining super powers like the US and Russia, or emerging ones like China in conflict?

Its hard to say exactly how the Saturn Neptune conjunction will play out over the next few years. However I do expect some of the long standing structures and organizations we took for granted to disappear, or change drastically. I also expect that themes around independence, self reliance, self expression and leadership to be highlighted more. In each of our own lives it in important to look at the Aries part of your chart to see where outdated habits, structures or beliefs might need to be discarded and how you can become more independent and expressive. You are being asked to take the lead in this part of your life now and to dissolve what no longer serves you.

Saturn in Aries - Top 5 Themes For a New Era

On May 24, 2025, Saturn moves into the fiery sign of Aries. This is a major astrological headline as Saturn spends two to three years in a sign, so when he changes signs, we often feel a major shift on both a personal and collective level. You may have heard of the term "Saturn return" which refers to when Saturn returns to the point it was at when a person was born. This occurs between the ages of 28 - 30 and every 28 - 30 years afterwards as this is the time it takes for Saturn to make his way around the zodiac. The last time Saturn was in Aries was April 1996 - February 1999. If you are old enough to remember this time, think back to what was happening in your life then to get clues as to what to expect in the upcoming Saturn in Aries era.

Astro Codes Oracle

Saturn will ingress into Aries on May 24 and then retrograde back into Pisces on September 01, 2025. This will give us a little preview of the main show which will be when he moves back into Aries on February 13, 2026, and stays there until April 12, 2028. This Saturn in Aries period will have an extra element to it as he will be making a conjunction (joining together with) with Neptune in 2026. They will come close this year in 2025 but will not be exact until early 2026. Saturn is about rules, boundaries and structures, while Neptune is about the spiritual, unity and dissolves things. I will discuss in more detail what this means below along with the themes we will likely see come up during Saturn's time in Aries.

  1. Self Discipline and Self Reliance
Saturn is about responsibility and working hard to get results. Unlike Jupiter which hands us gifts and makes things easy for us, Saturn says that if we truly want to accomplish something, we must put in the time and effort. There are no short cuts or life hacks with Saturn.  The good news is that with Saturn, if you work hard and put in the time, you will get long lasting results. Aries is about our sense of self and our identity. Saturn in Aries can challenge our sense of confidence and show us where our identity may be built on shaky ground. If we are getting a sense of validation from external sources, this won't work anymore. Forget about how many likes you got on social media, Saturn wants you to develop a sense of confidence that comes from within. It's time to become more independent and to practice self-discipline if you truly want to grow and see lasting change.

  2. Creative Innovation
Aries is a fire sign, and like all fire signs loves to express itself through creativity. Aries energy can be impulsive and risky, with a devil may care attitude. However, Saturn in this sign lends a sense of caution and can even slow us down or stop us from taking that leap of faith. This can be discouraging to those accustomed to just going for it. As frustrating as this is, Saturn is asking us to look before we leap. Are there pitfalls that can be avoided? Are there possible dangers we can prepare for? Saturn's caution can help us to make something that is longer lasting and more likely to succeed. Aries creative energy can also help us to come up with something we wouldn't otherwise have come up with without the rules and restrictions that Saturn brings.

  3. Restrictions and Rebellion
Saturn often brings restrictions and limitations to the areas ruled by the sign he is in. As Aries rules individuality and self-expression, there may be increasing limitations on personal freedom and increased pressure to conform and not stand out. Freedom of speech and movement may see roll backs along with threats to bodily autonomy. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, so there will be those who push back against these boundaries. Aries is a fiery rebellious sign, and there will be those who don't take kindly to these restrictions. It is also a sign ruled by Mars, the god of war, so this era may see an increase in armed rebellions.

  4. Strong Leadership
Saturn is associated with maturity and older adults, while Aries with youth, energy and a warrior spirit. This era will likely bring leaders who are combine these aspects, like older leaders with a youthful sensibility and young ones who have wisdom beyond their years. We may also see more leaders from a military or policing background come to the fore. This can lead to strong and charismatic leaders, but also there is a danger of the rise of aggressive individuals or those with fascist tendencies to become prominent. The challenge is to look to those who can combine wisdom and experience with a forward-looking optimism, rather than those who think that might makes right.

  5. The Collapse of Long Standing Structures
Above I mentioned that Saturn and Neptune will be close to conjunction this year and exact next year. In the past when Saturn and Neptune have come together, structures and rules that we took for granted have dissolved and disappeared. The last time this happened was in 1988/89 when the Berlin wall came down and Soviet rule over Eastern Europe collapsed. This then led to the Soviet Union itself ceasing to exist. This year and next will see big changes in the world order and some things that we took for granted disappear. While this may sound scary, remember that it is only through getting rid of what no longer works that we can make room for something new and hopefully better.

The Saturn in Aries period ahead of us is one that is not without its challenges. As listed above we may see more personal restrictions, the rise of strongmen leaders and big changes to the global order. At the same time this period is one that asks us to take personal responsibility and to get creative in our solutions to problems. It asks us to find true strength and leadership and to stand up against tyranny and those who would abuse their power. When we do the hard work that Saturn assigns us we will gain the benefit of long lasting positive change.

Neptune in Aries - Top 5 Themes for a New Vision of the World

On Monday March 31 Neptune, the planet of the collective subconscious, spirituality, oneness, the ocean and fantasy, delusion and addiction moves from the sign of Pisces to Aries. This is one of the major headlines of the year as Neptune only changes sign every 14 years. The complete cycle of Neptune around the zodiac is 165 years, so we will never see a complete cycle of Neptune in our lifetime. Neptune will be in Aries until October 22, 2025 when it will briefly retrograde back into Pisces. He will then move into Aries again on January 26, 2026 where he will remain for the next 14 years. Being one of the slower moving outer planets, like Pluto and Uranus, Neptune tends to affect things on a worldwide and collective scale, more than the personal. When an outer planet does touch a planet or sensitive point in one's chart, the transit will be a slow moving one that evolves over time, rather than a quick event.

Astro Code Oracle

Neptune is all about the collective dream, our fantasies and ideals. When Neptune changes signs it marks a change in the dream, in the ideals and desires that we are working towards. Neptune has been in Pisces since 2012, and this era was marked by the rise of social media, the smart phone and the ideals of "woke" culture. Pisces is a sign that is about empathy, romanticism, a sense of oneness, imagination but also delusion and misinformation. The social media and smart phone era held the promise of us all being able to connect instantly with anyone anywhere in the world. It offered us the dream of world wide connection. However, by the end of this era we saw how this new technology that promised more connection actually made people feel lonelier and more disconnected than ever. It has also led to an increase in misinformation and conspiracy theories. This era also saw the rise of "wokeness", which brought much needed attention to inequalities and to social justice. However, this also led to the rise of cancel culture and ideological extremism.

Neptune now moves from watery and romantic Pisces to the fiery and individualistic sign of Aries. Aries is a sign that is about taking the lead, pioneering, the warrior, and focused on the self as an individual, rather than on the collective like Pisces. It is also a sign of action and risk taking, of daring boldness, but also anger, aggression, and even war. Below are my top five predictions for themes that will emerge during the Neptune in Aries era we are headed into.

  1. Idealism of the Warrior, Pioneer and Cowboy archetypes.
The last time Neptune was in Aries, was in the 1860s, the era of the Civil War in the US. This Neptune era may see echoes of this former period in history. Hopefully we will not see another civil war, however there is obviously conflict between two vastly different visions and values in the US at this time. How it all plays out, remains to be seen. Neptune in Aries time periods tend to idealize the warrior archetype and glorify war and conflict. The positive aspect can be people fighting for what is right and resisting oppression. The negative is when it is expressed through violence and war. The 1860s also saw expansion westward of the US and glorified the idea of the pioneer and the cowboy, along with the myth of rugged individualism. This era may see expansionist ambitions, and also a desire to explore previously uncharted territory such as the ocean or outer space.

  2. A Focus on the Self and Individuality
Neptune in Pisces was all about the collective and a sense of spiritual and emotional oneness with others. On the good side this was about empathy and bringing people together, but negative aspects included a focus on helplessness, victim-hood and lack of personal accountability. There was also an emphasis on the fluidity of identity and lack of boundaries. Neptune in Aries will see a larger focus on the self as an individual and on clear distinctions and boundaries. We may see more individualism in fashion and art and a desire for more authentic self-expression. Instead of passively consuming, we will want to act and be the makers of art and our destiny. There will be an emphasis on individual responsibility and taking action to assert oneself. The danger is when this goes to an extreme and there is a denial of inequality and barriers, or that you do not recognize that you had help from others to get to your goals.

  3. Looking for a Hero
Aries is a sign that asks us to be the hero in our own life. It is the first sign in the zodiac and represents the start of our journey. It's the individual starting out on the hero's quest, the main character at the beginning of the story. Neptune in Aries asks us to see ourselves as the hero in our own lives. It asks us to act with agency and to assert our dreams and desires. The danger of this is when we idealize others or lift others up on a pedestal as if they have all the answers. This ea may lead to the rise of cult leaders, spiritual gurus and the abuse of this power. Remember that the power resides within you, rather than giving away your agency to someone else.

  4. Global Warming and the Ocean
Neptune is associated with the oceans and this era may be one where the oceans begin to warm and polar ice melts at a more rapid rate. Aries is a fire sign, so it is not a stretch to imagine that with Neptune moving into this sign that these issues will be more prominent. Neptune in Aries also has associations with oil and chemistry, as the last time Neptune was here saw major oil field discoveries and developments in the science of chemistry. We may see more drilling for oil in the ocean, or hopefully, scientific discoveries being used to help alleviate the climate crisis.

  5. Naval Warfare
Aries has been associated with warfare as it is a sign ruled by the planet Mars, god of war. Again, looking back to the 1860s, when Neptune was last in this sign, we saw the development of the first iron battleships. Hopefully this does not mean that there will be naval war during this era, but more of a development of naval military capabilities and technology. However with the US threatening Panama to take control of its canal, along with threats to the island of Greenland and to Canadian arctic sovereignty, it's hard not to think that this may be an issue.

While issues like global warming and naval warfare are not the most cheery topics, I bring them up as they are an issue we may be facing during this Neptune in Aries era. I believe its important to talk about these potential issues so that we can look at them honestly, rather than pretending they don't exist. It's only then that we can come up with solutions and options for how we will deal with it. On the bright side, Aries is a very hopeful and optimistic sign. It's one that encourages us to act with bravery and positivity. While the movements of these outer planets tend to bring changes on a larger global scale, the heroic energy of Neptune in Aries can help us to manage the changes with courage and creativity.

Solar Eclipse in Aries - Learning From the Past

On Saturday March 29, we have a New Moon at 9 degrees sign of Aries, that is also a Solar Eclipse.  Eclipses occur in pairs (a lunar and a solar, two weeks apart), twice a year. The next pair will occur in the fall, in September and October. Eclipses bring big starts and endings to the area of our lives that the signs they are in rule. If we have been off course, then the eclipses will bring change that is more dramatic. If we have been doing what we need to do, then the endings and new beginnings will feel more natural. Each of the two eclipses in a pair occur in the signs opposite each other. For example, Aries/Libra, Taurus/Scorpio, Gemini/Sagittarius etc. They will occur in the same pairs for about a year and a half, with some cross over before the eclipses move to the next pair. This what is happening this spring as we just had a Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Virgo, but this coming eclipse is in Aries. We are crossing over from the Aries/Libra axis to the Virgo/Pisces one. As this will be the last eclipse in Aries for the next 8 years, this is a time when changes that started during the fall of 2023 will be coming to completion.

Moonology Oracle

New Moons are a great time to set goals for the coming lunar cycle. Eclipses however can bring a volatile energy to the New Moon, so some people avoid setting intentions during eclipse season (the period a week before the first eclipse in a pair until the week after the last one). If you do decide to set intentions or do magical workings, keep in mind that the outcome can come about in highly unexpected ways. As this eclipse is in Aries, it is about our sense of individualism, our identity and can be a time when we are feeling brave and open to risk taking. This is also a North Node eclipse, so is a time when we are being pushed forward to move beyond our comfort zone.

This eclipse is conjunct both Venus and Mercury retrograde by sign, so there is an element of something from the past coming up for review. Mercury conjoins with Neptune on this day before slipping back into the sign of Pisces, so there may be a sense of confusion around some piece of information. Keep your skepticism about any news you may hear today, especially if it sounds either outrageous or too good to be true.

This eclipse is being helped by a sextile to both Jupiter in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. Jupiter brings a sense of optimism and an opportunity to grow through the changes that this eclipse brings. Pluto supports this as well, bringing a desire to change things on a deeper level. We don't want the changes to be superficial, but long lasting. In fact any changes made now, even small ones, may have a more profound impact on us over time than we may realize now.

The Sabian Symbol for this Solar Eclipse is "A Man Teaching New Forms from Old Symbols". This is about gathering new understandings from lessons we have learned in the past. This shows that the retrogrades of both Mercury and Venus are bringing their lessons to us to help us move forward in new ways this eclipse. Any changes and new experiences we encounter now, we can use the lessons from the past to help us to navigate things. While in the past we may have understood things on a superficial or intellectual level, now we see things in a new light, with the understanding of wisdom and experience. We have reached a deeper and more profound level of understanding and can now help to teach and be an example of others.

Top 5 tips for Venus Retrograde in Aries

On March 01 Venus, the planet of love and beauty, begins her retrograde journey, starting at 9 degrees of Aries. This retrograde period will last until April 12th, when she will station direct at 24 degrees of Pisces. Venus retrogrades occur every year and a half or so and repeat in the same sign every 8 years. The last Venus retrograde in Aries was back in the spring of 2017, and the time before that in early 2011, etc. Think back to that time to get an idea of what themes may come up again for you this March and April. Below are the top 5 themes and advice for navigating the Venus in Aries retrograde.

Astro Codes Oracle

  1. Relationships Return. Whether it's an old flame or an old friend, you are more likely to have someone from your past return to you now. It doesn't necessarily mean you will get back together with your ex, but you might be tempted to. In most cases those that do get back together with an old partner during this time tend to break up after, as they are reminded of why they are no longer together in the first place. For most people Venus retrograde means you might reconnect with an old friend or lover. something from the past comes back in a new form, but usually pleasantly so. Watch for what returns to you during this retrograde period.

  2. Relationship Reviews. Venus is the planet of love and relationships, and during her retrograde cycle, it's a good time to review them. This includes romantic, friendships and family relationships. We are asked to look at what is and isn't working, power imbalances and issues like independence vs closeness in our relationships. With Venus in the sign of the warrior, we are asked to be more assertive about our needs. This doesn't mean you will break up or lose friends, but often relationships that are on shaky ground will fall apart, while those that are strong will only emerge stronger for this time of reflection.

  3. Retro Styles. As Venus is also the planet that rules aesthetics and beauty, when she goes retrograde there tends to be an increase in nostalgia for past fashion, design, music and the arts. You may notice that retro styles from 8, 16, 24, 32, etc. years ago, may come back and music or movies from these past periods may experience a revamp or resurgence. It's a good time personally to experiment with your look, just don't do anything too drastic or permanent like cut all your hair off or get a tattoo, as you will probably regret it once Venus moves direct again.

  4. Creative Experimentation. A recurring theme when Venus goes retrograde in Aries is that controversial or experimental art comes out that pushes the boundaries of what society considers acceptable. Whether it's in music, movies, fashion or the visual arts, the Venus retrograde in Aries often marks a shift in public taste. This is because Aries is a sign that is often a pioneer and leader, is willing to take risks and to stand out from the crowd. This makes it a great time to do some creative experimenting of your own. Even if you do not consider yourself an artist, take a chance and redecorate that room, or try on the latest style in fashion to see if it suits you. You might be surprised.

  5. Protest. Venus retrograde periods have often coincided with times of mass protest and upheaval. In 2017 the US saw the largest ever demonstrations in the Women's March. In 2011 there was the Arab Spring uprisings that spread throughout North Africa and the Middle East. Venus retrograde in Aries has a particular connection with women's rights. This goes all the way back to 1913 when there were massive suffragette rallies in both the US and the UK. If you are concerned about civil rights, particularly women's rights, this is a good time to protest and take action. Venus is the planet that rules women and the feminine, and when she is in the sign of the warrior, Aries, she is not willing to settle for less than she deserves.

Solar Eclipse in Aries - Diffuclt Changes

On Monday April 08 we have a total Solar Eclipse at 19 degrees of Aries. Solar Eclipses are a time of big endings and beginnings. Solar Eclipses occur when the Moon crosses the Suns path exactly so that the Moon temporarily blocks out the Sun.  In ancient times it was said that Solar Eclipses represented the fall of kings, as the Sun is representative of leadership. It is interesting to note that Solar Eclipses often do coincide with the rise and fall of those in power. It can also symbolize the ending of one thing and the beginning of something new and unexpected. Eclipse season (the weeks around and between a pair of eclipses) is often a time of disruption and change. They are a time when the Universe will try to put us back on track in the area of our birth chart the eclipse is occurring in. If we are on track then the changes may be small, but if we have strayed from our path, the eclipses can be disruptive.

Moonology Oracle

This Solar Eclipse looks like a dramatic one. It is occurring in the fiery and individualistic sign of Aries. Aries is about asserting our sense of self. It is the sign of the warrior, the pioneer and the risk taker. This is a time when we may find that we need to assert our individuality and go against the crowd or to stand up for oneself rather than trying to be diplomatic. Aries is opposite the sign of Libra, where the Lunar Eclipse occurred two weeks ago. The Libra/Aries axis is about partnership/individuality, peace/war, harmony/action, and this eclipse it is the Aries feisty individuality that will win out. Look to the Aries house in your chart to see what area of life this eclipse will affect you in.

This Solar Eclipse the sun is conjunct Chiron, bringing up old wounds, but also the possibility for healing. This is the most powerful aspect of the eclipse as it is happening exactly on the same degree as Chiron. Expect any unresolved issues to come up, particularly around one’s sense of individuality and self-expression, as these are subjects ruled by the sign of Aries. Aries is a fire sign ruled by Mars, and as such, topics of war, violence, fire and accidents may be prominent in the news now. This can also bring up feelings of fear and loss, but also compassion and drive us to fight for justice.

The Eclipse also forms a conjunction by sign with Mercury who is in retrograde. Mercury retrogrades are notorious for communication breakdowns and travel delays. With this being in Aries and conjoining the Eclipse, I am expecting there will be travel chaos especially in the path of totality. This can further emphasize the possibility of accidents during the weekend around the Eclipse. Also watch for angry and hurt words in yourself or others, especially those that bring up painful things from the past.

Another challenging aspect that is occurring around the eclipse is Mars conjunct Saturn in Pisces, which will go exact two days later on Wednesday March 10. Mars is the planet of action and energy and wants us to move forward, while Saturn is about rules and boundaries and likes to slow things down. This is like trying to press both the accelerator and the break at the same time. Mars conjunct Saturn can create frustration, and lead to things breaking down under pressure. If we either try to force things or to stop things we will be met with equally opposing forces. Being in the sign of Pisces, this can show up in the realms of the emotions in our personal lives. In the world this may show up as accidents or conflicts around water, shipping or marine environments.

It’s not all challenging, as the Eclipse is also conjunct Venus by sign. The planet of love and beauty lends some help to this rather volatile Solar Eclipse. As she is in Aries, she does tend to lean towards the more fiery and passionate side, rather than the soft and romantic. She reminds us that even amidst all the difficulties to try to see the beauty that is here and to focus your passions towards making the world and your life a better place.

Overall the Solar Eclipse in Aries this weekend is a challenging one. Its one that brings frustration and can open up some old wounds. However it is also one that can bring us a chance to heal and to grow in spite of this. It asks us to not to try to either resist or force changes, but to accept the world and ourselves as we are. Remember eclipses are a time of necessary change in order to realign us with our highest good.
