Full Moon in Gemini - Spiritual Downloads

On Tuesday December 04, we have a Full Moon at 13 degrees of Gemini. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs and represent a point of heightened emotions, choice or balance. The Sun in Sagittarius asks us to think about our beliefs and big ideas like politics, religion, and philosophy, It is a sign associated with long distance travel, higher education and adventure. When the Sun is in Sagittarius we are asked to think about our dreams for the coming year and how we want to expand our minds, through things like travel and education. The Moon in Gemini is about details and the facts. It's great to have big ideas, but how are you going to actually carry them out? What are the details you need to attend to in order to make them happen? Gemini also reminds us that communication and facts are important. We can have a belief, but is it grounded in truth, or is it based off of fanatasy? This Full Moon we are asked to balance the fine details with our big overall goals.

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon does not have a lot of aspects to it, except that it is square the Nodes. The Nodes are not objects in the sky, but rather calculation points of where the Sun and Moon's paths cross, and are used to calculate eclipses. The South Nodes represent the past, our comfort zones and our accumulated karma. The North Node represents the future, being pushed outside of our comfort zone and our sense of purpose. The South Node shows us what to let go of and the North Node where we are being pushed to expand. The Full Moon squaring the Nodes (who are always exactly opposite each other) creates a grand cross between the Sun, Moon and the Nodes. This is a point of tension where we are asked to embrace an entirely new spiritual perspective (North Node in Pisces) and let go of needing to have all the details planned out in advance (South Node in Virgo). This Full Moon brings new ways of understanding that cannot be explained by logic alone. We may experience something that profoundly alters our point of view. This could be a big event, a sudden ending, or even just a subtle internal shift It may not feel like much at the time, but can have lasting impact for the future.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is "A Telepathic Conversation". This symbol speaks to the mystical and profound way intuition works. Sometimes we just know something, even though we logically shouldn't. No one has verbally told us or written it down, and yet we just know. This Full Moon is a time when many of us will receive what new agers often call "spiritual downloads". Wisdom and deep insight are more likely now. We are asked to be open to both the big profound Sagittarian ideas and the small Gemini details around us. Both of these will provide opportunity for us to see things from a new, more spiritual point of view.

Full Moon in Taurus - Playing in the Liminal

On Wednesday November 05 we have a Full Moon at 13 degrees of Taurus. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs. In this case the Sun is in introspective Scorpio and the Moon in earthy and grounded Taurus. During Scorpio season our thoughts turn inward and towards the mysterious and spiritual. It is no accident that Halloween, a celebration of the dead and all things spooky happens at this time of year. Scorpio season is about pondering the deeper aspects of life. When the Full Moon in Taurus comes along, it is to remind us that we live in the material realm too. We are asked to enjoy the sensual aspects of life, to go outside and enjoy nature and to apply those deeper insights in a practical way.

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon is not closely aspecting any planets as most are at either the beginning or end degrees of their signs. However on this day we have Mars in Sagittarius making an opposition to Uranus in Gemini and making a sextile to Pluto in Aquarius. Mars opposite Uranus brings the energy or shocks and surprises, anger and chaos. As these planets are on the Sagittarius, Gemini axis, I am expecting disruptions in travel, trade and communications or attacks involving foreign adversaries in the news. In our day to day lives there may be shocking news and suprises around the topics of the law, education, travel or disputes with neighbours. The sextile with Pluto is helping us to integrate whatever changes and surprises are occurring now. While it is disruptive, the sextile with Pluto says that there are opportunities to make something good out of all this.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is "Children Playing on the Seashore With Clams Nearby". This symbol speaks to how this Full Moon is about the land (Taurus) meeting the water (Scorpio). Where the physical and practical meet the emotional and subconscious realms. This is a place of potential and playfulness. It encourages us to not take things too seriously, but to explore and see the world with the eyes of innocence. It is when we marry these two worlds that we can really manifest amazing things. So roll with any surprises now and try to adapt to any changes rather than resist them. This Full Moon is all about the liminal and being able to have one foot in the realm of the spiritual and one in the material realm.

Full Moon in Aquarius - Creative Resolutions

On Saturday August 09 we have a Full Moon at 16 degrees of Aquarius. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs and often are time to bring balance or make a choice between two opposites. In this case the Sun is in Leo, a fixed fire sign. Leo season is about creativity, fun and self expression, but can also lead us to be excessively focused on the self. The Full Moon in Aquarius asks us to think about the wider community and what we can do to be part of the whole. It asks us to not just focus on our goals and needs but on what is good for the collective and all of humanity. The Full Moon in Aquarius is a great time to find a way to use our uniqueness and ability to shine to benefit others. Ask yourself how you can use your leadership skills and creativity to help and inspire others.

Moonology Oracle

This Aquarius Full Moon is unaspected to the other planets (besides the Sun), but it is important to note that on this day Mars will be aspecting the outer planets of Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Mars moves into Libra on August 06 and then shortly after forms a trine to Uranus in Gemini, on the 8th, an opposition to Saturn and Neptune in Aries on the 9th and a trine to Pluto in Aquarius on the 10th. These planets from a kite formation that is associated with challenges that force us to get creative and do things differently. In this kite, Mars in Libra opposite Saturn and Neptune in Aries forms the challenge. Mars wants to take action particularly towards peace and diplomacy, while Saturn in Aries brings in old conflicts and Neptune causes there to be confusion and disinformation. We may feel like our best efforts are being thwarted at every turn. The good news is that Uranus and Pluto are providing support to us. Uranus in Gemini brings us inspiration and genius ideas, including new technology to help us attack the problem from a different angle. While Pluto in Aquarius is the power of the collective to push towards a resolution that benefits everyone.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is "A Watchdog Standing Guard". I think this symbol is apt given the Mars opposition with Saturn and Neptune in Aries. We are asked to remain on guard this Full Moon against illusion and disinformation. Is someone trying to pull the wool over our eyes or appeal to our ego? Are there people trying to convince us that something is not possible because they are used to the old ways of doing things? There may be those that have an interest in getting us to fight with one another rather than in promoting peace and unity. The Sabian Symbol of the Watchdog reminds us to be loyal and true to our values and to listen to our intuition. If something doesn't feel right that's because it isn't. Don't be afraid to speak out in benefit of the whole.

Full Moon in Capricorn - Proving Your Worth

On Thursday July 10 we have a Full Moon at 18 degrees of Capricorn. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs and is the height of the lunar cycle. This can be a time of culmination of projects, an increase in activity and a time of heightened emotions as the Moon represents our subconscious and feelings. The Sun in Cancer has us focus on our internal world, the home and family connections. Cancer season can be a time to slow down and reflect on the past and our close relationships. The Full Moon in Capricorn reminds us to look at the material world and what we would like to achieve in that realm. What is it that we want to build, to attain and to accomplish, especially in a career or in the public eye. While connecting with our heart is important, we are reminded of the need to do practical things in the world too.

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon does not have a lot of aspects to it, but it is being supported by a trine with Mars in Virgo. This lends a practical and pragmatic energy. Mars in Virgo likes to make lists, to break down a project into achievable goals and then cross each task off as it is achieved. The ambition of the Capricorn Moon combined with the will power and focused energy of Mars in Virgo means we can accomplish a lot if we get organized and start taking even small steps toward our goals. The only caveat is that Mars in Virgo can be critical and perfectionist. Try to remember that done is better than perfect, and to not be overly harsh with yourself or others now.

This Full Moon is also forming a t-square with Chiron in Aries. Chiron is about our wounds and how we can heal them. As squares are stressful aspects, this may represent a feeling of trying to accomplish things outwardly in order to repair or heal an emotional wound. We may feel that in order to be seen and valued (Chiron in Aries) we have to achieve something (Capricorn Moon). We mistake external validation for our own inward approval. The other end of the t-square is the Sun in Cancer, showing that we sometimes tone down our independence and unique identity (Chiron in Aries) to fit in with those around us (Sun in Cancer). There's nothing wrong with achieving things or belonging to a group, but we must also be ourselves without people pleasing or feeling we have to perform for approval.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is "A Small Child With a Large Bag of Groceries". This symbol is about the desire to be helpful and contribute. When we were little we often wanted to show that we could do the things that the "grown ups" could do. We wanted to be a valuable member of the team and this sometimes resulted in us showing that we are more capable than we ourselves, or others thought, and sometimes resulted in us biting off more than we could chew. This again advises us that this Full Moon we can accomplish a lot, especially if we focus on service and break things down into more manageable tasks. Don't take on too much in an effort to prove yourself. Remember you are already worthy and valuable just as you are.

Full Moon in Sagittarius - Healing Through Creativity

On Wednesday June 11 we have a Full Moon at 20 degrees of Sagittarius. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs. In this case the Sun is in social and communicative Gemini and the Moon in adventurous and big picture thinking Sagittarius. During Gemini season we are focused on communicating with friends, learning new ideas, gathering facts and taking short trips or errands. The Full Moon in Sagittarius reminds us to not forget the forest for the tress and to take a step back and think about the larger ideas like philosophy, religion and politics. It also asks us to dream big and to imagine what grand adventures we want to have in the future. This makes this Full Moon a good time to look at our long term plans and re-evaluate our daily routines to see if they contribute to our overall goals.

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon has several positive aspects to it, including a trine to both Mars in Leo and Chiron in Aries. Mars and Chiron are lending supporting energy to make this an uplifting and energizing time. Mars in Leo encourages us to take the lead and to express ourselves creatively. The Full Moon is asking us to examine our long-term goals, and Mars in Leo wants us to start taking action towards them. Chiron is the wounded healer and in Aries he wants us to look at where our sense of self-expression or individuality has been hurt. What can we do to facilitate healing in our lives?

Also, on this day Mercury in Cancer is making a sextile to Venus in Taurus. This is a lovely aspect for creativity especially in the fields of creative writing, poetry or song writing. Mercury is about language and in Cancer, he wants us to express our feelings. With Venus the planet of love, beauty and relationships in earthy Taurus, this is best expressed through making art. Expressing our feelings of love and friendship is highlighted now, and especially so if we can do that by making art, music and poetry. Be open to inspiration this Full Moon.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon in "A Child and a Dog Wear Borrowed Glasses". This is a rather silly image of a kid trying on glasses and then putting them on a dog. But sometimes silliness and lightheartedness are called for. Don't take everything so seriously now. This speaks to how humour and joy can be healing for us. It also is about how children learn by imitating the adults around them. The child tries on glasses because he sees the adults wearing them and wants to try it out. If we are wanting to try something new, we have to follow those who have gone before. As the saying goes "fake it until you make it." You don't have to reinvent the wheel. You can learn from those who have gone before.

Overall, this is a very positive Full Moon that brings with it healing through creativity and lightheartedness. Express your feelings creatively and don't be so serious about everything. Take time to look at your long term goals and build some fun and adventure into your routine.

Full Moon in Scorpio - Expect the Unexpected

On May 12 we have a Full Moon at 22 degrees of Scorpio. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs. In this case, the Sun is in earthy, slow moving and pleasure-loving Taurus, while the Moon is in spiritual, transformative and deep feeling Scorpio. Full Moons are a time of heightened emotions as the Moon, which rules our emotions, and the subconscious, is at the apex of her cycle. This is even more pronounced with the Full Moon in Scorpio as this sign is one that rules over such taboo topics as death, the occult, sex and long-term finances and taxes. These are all topics that can bring up strong reactions from our subconscious. During the Full Moon in Scorpio we are asked to look beyond the material realm of Taurus and dive deep into our inner world and consider the spiritual, the psychological and the sexual realms.

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon in opposite Uranus in Taurus, bringing an element of surprise and chaos to this lunation. Uranus brings sudden events, shocks and inspiration, so expect the unexpected now. Surprise events can throw us for a loop and bring up strong emotions shaking us out of our comfort zone. This is like the Tower card in the Tarot, shaking our foundations to reveal what in our life is not on a solid footing. We may long for comfort and security, but Uranus is trying to shake us awake and bring clarity and inspiration to us.

Also challenging us is that the Sun and Moon are forming a loose square with Mars in Leo, the planet of action, courage and warfare. The sudden events and challenges can inspire us to take action, but we also may be tempted to react in anger or to lose our temper. It is better to wait and see how the dust settles before enacting a plan of action now.

In addition, on this day Mercury in Taurus makes a square with Pluto in Aquarius. Pluto rules over the Scorpio Full Moon and is the planet of death, transformation, power and the collective subconscious. This aspect is likely to bring secrets and scandals to light as Mercury in practical no nonsense Taurus brings us messages from Pluto's underworld. Watch for something of a scandalous nature to be revealed now on the collective and personal level.

Supporting this Full Moon are the Nodes, with the North Node in Pisces trine the Moon and the South Node in Virgo sextile the Moon. The North Node encourages us to let go of the past and move out of our comfort zone. To use change as an impulse for growth, rather than trying to cling to the past.

The Sabina Symbol for this Full Moon is "A Bunny is Transformed Into a Fairy". This symbol speaks to the power of our imagination and encourages us to use the primal animal energies of this Full Moon and to channel them into deep transformation on the spiritual and psychological level. With the strong chaotic energies from Uranus bringing shocks and upsets and Pluto and Mercury bringing secrets to light, we are confronted with radical changes. The answer is not to react in anger or trying to control things, but to see this as an opportunity for change on a deep and lasting level.

Full Moon in Leo - Courage in the Face of the Storm

On Wednesday February 12 we have a Full Moon at 24 degrees of Leo. Full Moons occur when the Sun and the Moon are in opposite signs, in this case the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo. Aquarius season asks us to focus on our community, friendship and our collective humanity. It is also a sign that asks us to embrace our inner genius and to innovate and look towards the future. We are asked to think about how we can use our abilities to benefit the larger group. With the Full Moon in Leo, we are asked to not forget our needs or to be swallowed up by the collective. We are challenged not to lose our individuality to fit in with a group, but to allow our unique creative light to shine. While some see it as "me vs we", its more about using our gifts and abilities to step forward and lead by example. To use our gifts in service of others, without losing our sense of self.

Moonology Oracle

Full Moons are known for their heightened emotions, and in Leo, it's all about the drama. This is a great time to go all out in our creatively and with our self-expression. However, for some this may be a time where we find ourselves or others becoming over dramatic or over sensitive. This is further exacerbated by Uranus, the planet of chaos, sudden change and inspiration forming a square to both the Sun and Moon. Unusual events, sudden upsets and the unexpected will add to the tension on this day. Avoid rigid plans and holding tightly to expectations. With the Sun, Moon and Uranus all in fixed signs, there is a tendency to resist change. However, if you roll with the changes, you may find yourself unexpectedly inspired and able to see creative solutions to your problem. Look to the houses ruled by Leo, Aquarius and Taurus for clues as to where the tension may develop for you personally. On a collective level, there is tension between the masses and those in authority, ruled by Aquarius and Leo respectively. This may be triggered by a Taurean sudden event like an environmental disaster, issues around food, money, or labour disputes.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is "A Large Camel Crossing the Desert". This image speaks of the need for self-reliance, and for resilience in difficult times. A camel can go for days without food or water because of the fat it stores in its hump. We too must be able to sustain ourselves during hard times. Sudden events may force us to adapt and make do with less for a time. It also encourages to draw on the courage of Leo and to keep going knowing that the desert doesn't last forever. We are asked again to use our unique creative gifts to help the community as a whole, so that we can help each other to weather the storm together.

Full Moon in Gemini - Fantasy or Delusion?

On Sunday December 15, we have a Full Moon at 23 degrees of Gemini. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs, so are a time when we have to make a choice or find a balance between two opposites. The Sun in Sagittarius has us focusing on the big picture, on overarching themes and big plans and goals for the coming year. The Moon in Gemini reminds us that we need to look at the details. Do the facts back up our theories? Do we have the details in place to make our big dreams real? Both Gemini and Sagittarius are geared towards learning, teaching and travel. This can be a good time to decide on what we want to learn more about in the coming year and to think of some adventures we’d like to have.

Moonology Oracle

Full Moons are also a time when emotions can run high as the Moon, who rules the emotions and the subconscious is at her height. While Gemini moons tend to be more cerebral and less emotionally intense, this can be an increased time for communication and sharing ideas. One thing that may cause some complications, is that we also have Mercury retrograde ending on this day. Mercury has been retrograde in Sagittarius since November 28, and on December 15 he will station direct. After this day you may find there is more clarity and less disruptions, however on this day you may still feel the effects of the retrograde period. So there may be increased communication now, but it may be unclear and mistakes are more likely to be made.

The only major aspect this Full Moon makes is a square with Neptune in Pisces. Squares show tension, and with dreamy Neptune in watery Pisces, this adds another layer of delusion and deception to this day. Neptune can be great for fantasy, imagination and a sense of spiritual oneness, but can also lead us astray with delusions and in extremes bring up issues around addictions or mental health. Watch out for misinformation or even disinformation around this time. This Full Moon can be great for creativity and daydreaming, just don’t take your dreams for certainties now. Also beware any big promises or making deals now as not all the facts are in and you may not be seeing things clearly.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is “Children Skating on a Frozen Pond”. This imagery contains the potential for both fun and danger, which I think is apt for this lunation. Skating can be fun and a great way to enjoy the winter season, but if the ice isn’t thick enough it could lead to disaster. It’s important now to assess any risks now and not just jump into things trusting that everything will be fine. It might be, but it also might turn into a disaster. It is important now to use caution but not to be so timid that you miss out on enjoyment and fun. In short, use your head and be creative this Full Moon but don’t make any major decisions or get carried away with what may prove to be a delusion down the road.

Full Moon in Taurus - Coming together in Times of Darkness

On Friday November 15 we have a Full Moon at 24 degrees of Taurus. Full Moons are a time of heightened energy as the Moon, which represents the subconscious and our emotions is at her apex. With any Full Moon, the Sun is in the opposite sign, so this can mean that one is faced with a choice or to try to balance between the two opposing energies. The Sun in Scorpio asks us to look within, to focus on our inner worlds, including the psychological, the sexual and the spiritual. We are asked to go deeper and to examine the darker or hidden areas of our lives. The Moon in Taurus brings in earthy energy that reminds us to look at the beauty of the outside world and the physical realm. It reminds us to eat good food, to go out in nature, and to balance out the internal reflection, with being in the material realm and enjoying physical pleasures.

Astro Codes Oracle and Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon in closely conjunct Uranus, the planet of chaos, change, and inspiration. This Full Moon will bring some surprising events in the Taurus realms of money, nature, food and labour. These events could be disruptive and destructive, or they could inspire us. With Uranus, you never know what you are going to get, so expect the unexpected. To see how it will affect you, look to the Taurus house in your birth chart. Both this Full Moon and Uranus are conjunct the fixed star Algol, also known as the Head of Medusa or the Demon Star. This is a star that is associated with decapitation, falls from grace of the powerful and violence. This won’t affect most people on an individual level, but I am expecting to see some dramatic events on the world stage.

Also on November 14, Saturn, the planet of rules, boundaries and order, goes direct after several months in retrograde. While we often don’t notice Saturn retrogrades on a personal level, we may notice it more on the days he turns retrograde or direct. Saturn is in Pisces currently, which can make people more melancholy, sensitive and somber. When he goes direct, we often find there are more restrictions, more rules and things slow down. Saturn in Pisces stationing direct or retrograde has also often coincided with disasters at sea.

There are positive aspects to this Full Moon with a supportive sextile to Neptune in Pisces. Whatever disruptive events may happen, Neptune asks us to dream a bigger dream and to look towards the future with optimism. He also asks us to remember our connections to others, that we are all one. As long as we don’t escape into fantasy or delusion, we can use these dreams to create positive change. Another supportive aspect is Pluto at the end of Capricorn. Pluto encourages us to let go of the past, to embrace the changes that are coming so that we can walk in to the new Pluto in Aquarius era (Pluto moves into Aquarius for the next 20 years starting on November 19, 2024) free of being encumbered.

The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon is “A Public Park”. While this symbol may not seem to match the dramatic aspects of this Full Moon, it does give us a clue as to how we can approach any disruption we may face. A public park is a place of respite and relaxation that we all share. By coming together in a spirit of relaxation and harmony, and focusing on our shared values and humanity we can overcome obstacles. The park is also a place of recreation and fun, and a place to find contact with nature. By going out into nature, and having fun we find a way to de stress and get away from the noise and confusion. It reminds us to balance out the darkness and seriousness of the times we are in with the joy of being present and alive and connected to each other.
