Full Moon in Capricorn - Harmony and Balance

On June 29, 2026 we have a Full Moon at 8 degrees of Capricorn. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs and are a time of heightened energy and emotion. In this case, the Sun is in intuitive and nurturing Cancer, and the Moon in ambitious and hard-working Capricorn. Cancer season is the start of summer holidays in the northern hemisphere. It's a time to relax, be at home enjoying a bbq in the backyard, or to go to your favourite beach spot. Cancer wants to slow down, revisit old memories and asks us to nurture ourselves and others. When the Full Moon in Capricorn comes along, we are asked to not forget about our ambitions and what we want to build in the world. How can we balance our work and home life? What are our ambitions for the second half of the year?

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon is mostly unaspected, with only a loose square to Saturn in Aries. This shows a tension between our home and work life due to our self-imposed limitations. When it comes to balancing the personal and public, we may be holding ourselves back. Do we have self-limiting beliefs? Are we telling ourselves we don't have time, aren't talented enough for our ambitions or that we don't deserve self-care? Neither of these is true. This Full Moon offers us an opportunity to release old beliefs and to use a sense of self discipline to organize our time better so we can find a balance that works for us.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is "An Angel with a Harp". This symbol speaks to harmony and faith. When we find the balance in our lives and structure our time and energy to align with our priorities, things in our life run smoother., There is a sense of being in the flow and walking our path in harmony. Self-discipline isn't a punishment or a about being a drill sergeant to ourselves. Rather it is about giving the people and things that mean most to us the time and energy they need. It's about prioritizing what matters to us and making time for ourselves a priority. This Full Moon gives us an opportunity to examine the structures in our lives and see if they are actually supporting us.

Full Moon in Capricorn - Proving Your Worth

On Thursday July 10 we have a Full Moon at 18 degrees of Capricorn. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs and is the height of the lunar cycle. This can be a time of culmination of projects, an increase in activity and a time of heightened emotions as the Moon represents our subconscious and feelings. The Sun in Cancer has us focus on our internal world, the home and family connections. Cancer season can be a time to slow down and reflect on the past and our close relationships. The Full Moon in Capricorn reminds us to look at the material world and what we would like to achieve in that realm. What is it that we want to build, to attain and to accomplish, especially in a career or in the public eye. While connecting with our heart is important, we are reminded of the need to do practical things in the world too.

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon does not have a lot of aspects to it, but it is being supported by a trine with Mars in Virgo. This lends a practical and pragmatic energy. Mars in Virgo likes to make lists, to break down a project into achievable goals and then cross each task off as it is achieved. The ambition of the Capricorn Moon combined with the will power and focused energy of Mars in Virgo means we can accomplish a lot if we get organized and start taking even small steps toward our goals. The only caveat is that Mars in Virgo can be critical and perfectionist. Try to remember that done is better than perfect, and to not be overly harsh with yourself or others now.

This Full Moon is also forming a t-square with Chiron in Aries. Chiron is about our wounds and how we can heal them. As squares are stressful aspects, this may represent a feeling of trying to accomplish things outwardly in order to repair or heal an emotional wound. We may feel that in order to be seen and valued (Chiron in Aries) we have to achieve something (Capricorn Moon). We mistake external validation for our own inward approval. The other end of the t-square is the Sun in Cancer, showing that we sometimes tone down our independence and unique identity (Chiron in Aries) to fit in with those around us (Sun in Cancer). There's nothing wrong with achieving things or belonging to a group, but we must also be ourselves without people pleasing or feeling we have to perform for approval.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is "A Small Child With a Large Bag of Groceries". This symbol is about the desire to be helpful and contribute. When we were little we often wanted to show that we could do the things that the "grown ups" could do. We wanted to be a valuable member of the team and this sometimes resulted in us showing that we are more capable than we ourselves, or others thought, and sometimes resulted in us biting off more than we could chew. This again advises us that this Full Moon we can accomplish a lot, especially if we focus on service and break things down into more manageable tasks. Don't take on too much in an effort to prove yourself. Remember you are already worthy and valuable just as you are.

New Moon in Capricorn - New Year, New You, New World

Right as we exit the old year 2024 and enter a new one 2025, we get a New Moon at 9 degrees of Capricorn. New Moons are the beginning of the lunar cycle and offer us an opportunity to start anew and set goals for the coming lunar cycle ahead. We have both the Sun and the Moon working together in the same sign, this time in ambitious Capricorn. The sign of the goat is all about our worldly goals, particularly when it comes to career and our public face. What better time of year than the New Year to set some intentions in this area. Think of the nimble and courageous goat who cleverly scales mountains and hillsides. We too can climb any mountain now as long as we take it one step at a time with confidence. As Capricorn is an earth sign ruled by Saturn, we are urged to think about our material goals and to take practical steps toward them. How can we break our big ambitions down to step by step achievable actions?

Moonology Oracle

This New Moon does not have any major aspects to any of the other planets. This means that while it is not getting a lot of support from the other planets, it is also not being held back or challenged either. This  means that it is up to us to achieve our intentions in the Capricorn area of our chart. There can be freedom and a sense of pride in knowing that you did something all by yourself, or at least mostly by yourself (it is okay to ask for help too). You know that it was the steps you took that are leading you towards your dreams.

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is "An Albatross Feeding From the Hand". This symbol is about trusting in life and radiating peace to others. This New Moon brings with it a sense of trust and optimism for the future. By extending a hand towards others with patience and love, we win the trust of others. This New Moon symbol reminds us that when making our goals and setting intentions to do so with a pure heart. To remember that it is not just about making our own lives better, but about making the world a better place for all.

Venus in Capricorn - Time to Commit

On November 11, 2024 Venus, the planet of love and beauty moves from fiery Sagittarius into earthy Capricorn. When Venus was in Sagittarius, she was all about flirting and having fun adventures. Now in Capricorn she wants to get down to business. Venus in Capricorn doesn’t want to flirt, she wants a commitment. She wants to know where things are going as she is ambitious and practical. The next few weeks are a good time to examine your present relationships, both romantic and otherwise, and think about how they may or may not be working for you and what you can bring to the table to improve things. Venus also rules our aesthetics and artistic tastes and expressions. In Capricorn, taste tend to lean towards the traditional in both fashion and in art and music. As we enter the holiday season, we may find ourselves feeling nostalgic. Below are the aspects Venus will be making on her trip through Capricorn.

Astro Code Oracle & Oracle of the Radiant Sun

On November 22, Venus in Capricorn will be sextile Saturn in Pisces. This is a good time for organizing social events or a creative venture. Saturn brings structure to artistic Venus, so can help bring her ideas into form. This is also a good time to have a heart to heart with a loved one as we can talk about serious topics while still honoring our emotions.

On November 27 Venus makes a square with Chiron, who is currently in Aries. Chiron is about healing old wounds and in Aries it revolves around wounds to our sense of identity. Watch for conflicts between the pressure to be more traditional or conservative and a desire to express ones individuality to arise now.

Venus trines Uranus in Taurus on December 02, brining excitement and inspiration. You may be inspired by some unusual fashion, music or art, or meet someone excentric who ignites passion within you. This can also bring inspiring and unusual events your way, particularly in romance or creativity. Go with the flow, and allow yourself to deviate from your normal routine.

On December 04 Venus makes a harmonious sextile with Neptune in Pisces. This is not a good day for accomplishing detailed tasks, but it is a good one for daydreaming, exploring our imagination and creative work. It’s also a day where we may put the rose coloured glasses on, particularly in romantic relationships. It’s a lovely day for romance, just don’t ignore or gloss over poor behaviour.

Venus closes her journey through Capricorn when she moves into Aquarius on December 06, 2024. This three and a half week period is a good time to get serious about your creative work, and your relationships, before she moves into rebellious and avant garde Aquarius.

Pluto in Capricorn - Tieing Up Loose Ends

On September 01, 2024, Pluto will dip back into the sign of Capricorn for one last time, before moving back into Aquarius on November 19, 2024. Pluto moves very slowly around the zodiac, taking 248 years to complete a cycle. As such, it only moves forward a couple of degrees a year, and spends about half of the year in retrograde. Since May of 2023, Pluto has been going back and forth between the last degrees of Capricorn and the first few degrees of Aquarius. Pluto entered Aquarius May – July of 2023 and gave us a sneak peek, a trailer if you will, of what is to come for the next twenty years of Pluto in Aquarius (2023 – 2044). Pluto then went back into Capricorn, and re-entered Aquarius in January of this year. This autumn he dips one last time back into Capricorn to clean things up and tie up any loose ends before moving out of the sign for another 248 years.

Astro Codes Oracle

Pluto is the planet that marks generations as he can spend anywhere from 12 to 20 years in a sign, due to his elliptical orbit. He represents the death of the old ways, the slow march of change over time. He clears out things that are decaying in order for new life and new ways to sprout. While Uranus represents sudden or shocking changes, Pluto is a slower transition, but one that has long lasting and profound impact. He is the lord of death and helps us to let go and grieve. With his last foray into Capricorn, it is like he has gone back briefly to clean things up in this area of our life. If you know your birth chart, look what area Capricorn rules to see where you may be saying goodbye to something or finishing things up. Particularly look to any projects or themes that started back in 2008, when he first entered this sign. Even if you don’t know your chart, Capricorn represents ambitions, career, and worldly success. It is also a sign that is focused on earthly accomplishments and authority. Look back over the last 16 years. Has your view of what counts as success changed? Is there something you started back then that you are ready to let go of? How have your ambitions changed?

Pluto also represents power. The sign Pluto is in tends to show where we invest in or express power in the world. Capricorn represents government, big corporations, institutions and traditional authority. Since 2008 we have seen corporations become bigger and have more influence over the world. We’ve also seen many of them merge and become virtual monopolies in some sectors, along with some owners becoming trillionaires. Power and wealth moved increasingly towards the minority at the top, while poverty increases and everyday necessities like housing become more and more out of reach for many. We also saw a rise of populist and fascist governments and politicians, who want to enforce their authority through repressive means. The last few months of Pluto in Capricorn may see a last gasp of those who want to maintain this old order. However, the Pluto in Aquarius era has already begun and will only continue to gain strength after this autumn. Aquarius is a sign that is about community, humanitarianism and revolution. The next 20 years will see power shift from those at the top towards communities and be more spread out rather than centralized.

Pluto also reveals where power has been abused and misused. He digs up what was secret and shows us the things those in power don’t want us to see. When Pluto was in Sagittarius (1995 – 2008), the abuses of the Church and those in religious authority came to light, as Sagittarius rules religion. The Pluto in Capricorn years started off with the banking and housing collapse in 2008. This showed us where those in financial authority had abused their power. This was also the start of protests on Wall Street and against the growing divide of rich and poor. These years also exposed government corruption and how those in authority have misused power, for example politicians flouting Covid lock down rules or trying to overturn the results of democratic elections. With Pluto’s last visit to Capricorn, we may see some new scandals in these areas emerge, or see some of these old issues get resolved now.

Overall this last dip into Capricorn is a chance for us to clean up any loose ends and to reflect on the changes we have gone through since 2008. On a world level I expect to see some issues around corruption find some resolution or more information come to light. I also expect those in traditional authority to make a last push for control. On a personal level, look to the Capricorn house to see where you need to resolve some lingering issues.

Full Moon in Capricorn - Consider Your Ambitions

We have a Full Moon on Friday June 21, the day after the Summer Solstice. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs, and with the Sun just moving into Cancer the day before, the Moon will be at 1 degree of Capricorn now. Full Moons are a time of heightened emotions as the Moon, which represents emotions and the subconscious, is at her height. The Sun is now in watery and emotional Cancer, turning our focus to the home, family, memory, and the imagination for the next four weeks. While the Moon in Capricorn wants us to be ambitious and to not forget that we have work to accomplish in the world. Capricorn Full Moons are a time when we are asked to look at our career goals and see if they feed our heart. How can we find a good balance between work and home, between our emotional self-care and the need for outer accomplishment?

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon is squaring Neptune in late Pisces. Neptune is a planet that signifies spirituality and a sense of oneness, but can also represent fantasy and delusion. Squares are a stressful aspect, so Neptune leans towards the delusional and even deceptive now. There is something about our desires that is fanciful and not grounded in reality, or we may be basing our beliefs on a falsehood. Watch for misinformation and disinformation in the news, especially around issues of borders, homelands, ancestry and the past. If something seems to be outrageous, or angers you, remember that it may be a falsehood. Wait for the fog to clear and you will have a better view of how things really are. This is not a good time to make any hasty decisions.

Another aspect on this day is Mercury in Cancer sextile Mars in Taurus. Mercury is communication and travel and in the sign of Cancer he wants to talk about feelings and memories of the past. Mars is action, desire and aggression. In earthy Taurus he is all about slow and steady determination. This is a great time to think about long term goals and ambitions and to make plans that resonate with your heart. There is no need to rush with Mars in Taurus, and with the foggy aspect of Sun and Moon square Neptune, there is a lack of clarity. However, there is nothing wrong with dreaming and planning. Just remember that you may need to revise your plans with more practical details later.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is “A Chief Demands Recognition.” This symbol talks about how we sometimes need to stand up and be in our power. We need to communicate clearly our desires and not make ourselves small to please others. It also asks us to look at who we give power and authority to. In the world we may see new leaders emerge or upstarts try to overthrow things. It is a good time to examine power dynamics and ask who is a true leader and someone we can look up to and who is a blow hard just trying to bully and control things.

Overall this Full Moon asks us to look at ambition. Do our goals and desires satisfy our hearts? Do they support our inner world and our home life? Are they based on reality, or a fantasy? These are all things to consider this Capricorn Full Moon.

New Moon in Capricorn -

On Friday January 12 we have a New Moon at 20 degrees of Capricorn. New Moons are a time of new beginnings as the moon is beginning her waxing cycle, from New to Full. This is a great time to plant any metaphorical seeds you want to grow. It’s also when the Sun and Moon are in the same sign so are working together energetically. This New Moon is in the earthy and ambitious sign of Capricorn. It is a great time to set intentions in the area of career or if you are starting a business. This is also a good time to get your calendar and daily routines organized.

(Moonology Oracle)

This Capricorn New Moon is especially positive as it makes favourable aspects to the outer planets. The Moon makes a trine with Uranus the planet of chaos, sudden change and inspiration. This brings opportunities to take action on any inspirations or to turn changes to our advantage. Also supporting this is Neptune, the planet of imagination and spirituality, which sextile the Moon. We are being asked to dream big and not limit ourselves now. The final aspect is a conjunction with Pluto the planet of death, transformation and power. Pluto brings us the power to let go of what doesn’t serve us and to make profound and long lasting changes.

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is “A Relay Race”. This suggests that cooperation is important in whatever goals we set. None of us achieve things alone. It’s important that we learn from those that went before and then try to pass along our gifts to benefit others.

The New Moon is also conjunct the fixed star Dhaneb. This lends us a commanding nature and the ability to gain favours and promotions. It does warn to act with justice and integrity and to avoid stepping on others or doing something underhanded, as it will catch up to us.

Overall this is a great time to set powerful intentions for your career. Don’t limit your imagination and dream big. You never know what wonderful opportunities are going to come up for you!
