New Moon in Virgo - Reset and Review

On Thursday September 10 we have a New Moon at 18 degrees of Virgo. This is the first lunation since the eclipses of last month, so officially ends "eclipse season". Eclipses bring dramatic events and changes, so a return to the normal lunar cycle is a welcome change. New Moons are a great time to set intentions as both the Sun and Moon are in the same sign, in this case Virgo. Virgo is an earth sign ruled by Mercury, so is both practical and intelligent. With the New Moon in this sign, it is a good time to make goals around day-to-day issues and learning. Virgo is also associated with health, so goals around fitness, nutrition, healthy routines and mental health are all favoured now. This is also a good time for setting goals around education or searching for employment. The New Moon in Virgo is great for back-to-school energy and setting up new routines to support you throughout the rest of the year.

Moonology Oracle

This New Moon does not have any close aspects to the other planets, but that does not mean that nothing else is happening. On this day we have two planets changing signs - Mercury into Libra and Venus into Scorpio. Mercury is the planet of communication and transportation and in Libra this favours diplomacy and cooperation. The next few weeks are great for harmonious communication, resolving disputes and for one-on-one connection. This is also a good time to work with others on intellectual or writing projects, and for a romantic getaway or a trip to experience culture and art.

The other planet changing signs is Venus, the planet of love and beauty, moves into mysterious and transformative Scorpio. Venus in Scorpio has a love of all things spooky and dark. Think goth or vampy looks and Halloween decor. That is the fun side of Venus in Scorpio, but this transit can also be intense, bringing up power issues, obsession and jealousy. Venus in Scorpio wants to dig down deep into underlying issues and can bring up troubling things from the past or issues we may not want to confront. With Venus going retrograde later this fall, any issues brought up now may return to be reviewed again later this autumn.

If that wasn't enough, we also have Uranus stationing retrograde at 5 degrees of Gemini on the same day! The outer planets' retrograde periods are not felt as much as the personal planets, but we feel it more at the stations, especially in the outer world. Uranus us about chaos, inspiration and technology. In Gemini, Uranus often highlights communication and transportation technology. Think computers, drones, self-driving cars, social media, AI etc. I expect to see these as themes in the news, especially themes around regulations of these technologies. During the next few months, we will be collectively reviewing these new technologies and thinking about how we want to use or not use them.

The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is "A Swimming Race". This symbol speaks to competition and how we can see ourselves as competing against others, or even better competing against ourselves and striving to do better. When we focus on improving ourselves, we are the ones in control, and we will benefit every time. If we make it about comparing ourselves to others, then we are at the mercy of others and will always find someone who we think is better and end up feeling like a failure. This is an excellent metaphor for this New Moon where we are asked to set goals for day-to-day routines and around wellness. When we focus on setting our own individual goals and not comparing ourselves to others we will always win.

The Nodes in Leo & Aquarius - Creativity in Community

This August is Eclipse Season with both the New Moon and the Full Moon this month being a Solar Eclipse and a Lunar Eclipse respectively. Eclipses come in pairs, two weeks apart, with one being a Solar and one a Lunar eclipse. From the two weeks before the first eclipse until two weeks after the last eclipse is what is considered "Eclipse Season" as the changes and upsets the eclipses bring can occur anywhere within that time frame, with the peak being the two weeks between the first and last eclipses. Eclipse Season is a time of sudden changes, new beginnings and abrupt endings. It is also a time when hidden information comes to light and secrets are revealed.

Astro Code Oracle

Every year we have two Eclipse Seasons, about 6 months apart and in the opposite zodiac signs. The eclipses happen in the same opposite signs for about two years, with a brief overlap into the next two signs. For example, this year we are transitioning from the Virgo/Pisces axis to the Leo/Aquarius axis. Earlier this year we had a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius and a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo. The Solar Eclipse in Aquarius was the first in the Leo/Aquarius axis that will run until February 2028. This month we will have a Solar Eclipse in Leo and a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. The Pisces eclipse will be the last in the Virgo/Pisces axis as after this the eclipses will be fully switched to the Leo/Aquarius one.

Connected to the eclipses are the North and South Nodes. These are not celestial bodies in the sky, but rather are calculation points of where the paths of the Sun and the Moon cross each other. They are used to calculate where eclipses will occur and are important points in an astrological chart. The Nodes are always directly opposite each other and move backwards around the zodiac. That is why the eclipses are moving from Virgo/Pisces to Leo/Aquarius. This past week on July 27, the North Node moved into Aquarius and the South Node into Leo. The Nodes will remain in these signs until March 2028.

The North Node represents the future and pushes us out of our comfort zone. It wants us to expand and grow, to move into new areas and explore new things. The more we resist this, the more dramatic the changes the eclipse associated with the North Node will bring. With the move into Aquarius, we are being pushed to consider the wider community and the greater good of the collective. This is because Aquarius is associated with community and humanitarianism. It also has a revolutionary aspect that encourages us to rise up against tyranny and question rules that are not beneficial to humanity. Aquarius also has an association with technology, so it asks us to find ways to use technology for the greater good. With Pluto also being here in Aquarius, it will be interesting to see in the coming years how the transformative power of Pluto and the North Node will bring about collective growth.

The South Node represents the past, and what needs to be let go of or healed and integrated. Again, when we resist this, the eclipses in this sign will be more dramatic and disruptive. With the move into Leo, we are asked to use our creative gifts and leadership skills not in service of our own ego, but rather for the greater good. We are asked to let go of pride and self-centredness now, and to avoid worshiping others or placing them on a pedestal. There is nothing wrong with the self-expression or creativity of Leo, but if we are attached to our ego or stubborn pride, this will not serve us now.

In the coming weeks, I'll post more about the upcoming eclipses. In the meantime, take a look at your birth chart and see where your Leo and Aquarius houses are. This will tell you in what area of your life you are being asked to grow and expand, and what area you are being asked to let go or to integrate the lessons of the past.

Top 5 Themes of Jupiter in Leo

On June 29 Jupiter, the planet of luck, expansion, optimism and wealth moves from intuitive and protective Cancer to fiery and creative Leo, where he will be until July 26 2027. Jupiter brings luck to the part of our chart ruled by the sign he is in, and especially to those with planets in that sign. On a collective scale it brings ease and optimism to the topics the sign he is in rules. For example, the last 13 months while in the sign of Cancer, we have seen an emphasis on protecting our neighbourhoods, acting locally, and advocating for the safety of children. Juptier also represents the law and justice, so we have seen people work together to protect their communities from everything from ICE to data centres, and to push for the release of the Epstien files. We have also seen an emphasis on comfort, quiet hobbies like bird watching, baking and crafting, and a desire to make our homes a comfortable place to retreat from the world. Now with Jupiter moving into Leo, we are asked to come out of our shells and roar loudly. Below are 5 themes I see emerging for the 13 months ahead of Jupiter in Leo.

Astro Code Oracle

  1. Charismatic Leaders Emerge. Leo is the sign of the king or queen, and Jupiter in Leo years often see leaders that inspire others rise to the fore. Watch for leaders with an optimistic vision for the future to gain momentum now. Those with a vision for the future will inspire others and create movements. Leo is a sign with charisma and a sense of generosity, so I expect that we will see younger leaders with a positive vision emerge. People want someone to get behind and spearhead changes now. These leaders are not always politicians, but may be artists, activists or scientists. Expect to see more people speaking up and speaking out about issues important to them.

  1. Creative Expression. Leo is not the sign of the wallflower but lives to roar for attention. I expect to see more art, movies and music that is expressive, opinionated and flamboyant. Leo loves glamour and attention, so expect to see more bling and colour in fashion and aesthetics. People are looking to express their individuality now, rather than tone down to fit in. Leos are known for their manes so I expect big or dramatic hair to make a comeback. I also think we will see more big block buster movies, and big productions in music and theater.  There will also be more unique creative works emerging that give the established media companies and artists a run for their money.

  2. Optimism and Generosity. Leo is a sign linked to hope and youthful optimism. While there is a lot to be troubled by in the world right now, the move from Jupiter into Leo brings a sense of possibility and a desire to make the world a better place. When Juptier moves into Leo, it will make a sextile with Uranus, the planet of sudden change and technology, who just moved into Gemini. There may be hope around new technologies and scientific breakthroughs. Jupiter will also make a trine with Neptune, the planet of ideals, dreams and fantasy, who just moved into Aries earlier this year. The dreams and ideals we have for the future will feel more possible now that Jupiter is in Leo. This aspect of Jupiter sextile Uranus, trine Neptune and opposite Pluto forms a basket shape in July this year, which holds the opportunity for positive developments in the future for everyone.

  3. Fascists and Loyalists. Jupiter in Leo brings out charismatic leaders for the good, but also emboldens those who believe they are better than others. We may see leaders with authoritarian tendencies become more dogmatic or try to impose their will upon others without restraint. We could see more extravagant public works commissioned to glorify and feed the egos of leaders like Trump, Putin and their ilk. Followers of them may become more emboldened or seek to gain attention as they believe they will be rewarded for their efforts. Corruption becomes more evident now as authoritarians reward loyalty over competency.

  4. The People vs Authoritarians. In July we will have Pluto in Aquarius opposing Jupiter in Leo. Pluto in Aquarius represents the power of the common people which will be in opposition to those who want to fashion themselves as dictators. Rebellions and protests are more likely to emerge now. Centralized power will be challenged and questioned as people feel the gap between the ultra rich and everyone else grows. The other conflict is between technology like AI, represented by Pluto in Aquarius, and individual creative expression, represented by Jupiter in Leo. As the technocrats try to push AI on the public, many are resisting and finding greater value in authentic creative expression.

Full Moon in Capricorn - Harmony and Balance

On June 29, 2026 we have a Full Moon at 8 degrees of Capricorn. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs and are a time of heightened energy and emotion. In this case, the Sun is in intuitive and nurturing Cancer, and the Moon in ambitious and hard-working Capricorn. Cancer season is the start of summer holidays in the northern hemisphere. It's a time to relax, be at home enjoying a bbq in the backyard, or to go to your favourite beach spot. Cancer wants to slow down, revisit old memories and asks us to nurture ourselves and others. When the Full Moon in Capricorn comes along, we are asked to not forget about our ambitions and what we want to build in the world. How can we balance our work and home life? What are our ambitions for the second half of the year?

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon is mostly unaspected, with only a loose square to Saturn in Aries. This shows a tension between our home and work life due to our self-imposed limitations. When it comes to balancing the personal and public, we may be holding ourselves back. Do we have self-limiting beliefs? Are we telling ourselves we don't have time, aren't talented enough for our ambitions or that we don't deserve self-care? Neither of these is true. This Full Moon offers us an opportunity to release old beliefs and to use a sense of self discipline to organize our time better so we can find a balance that works for us.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is "An Angel with a Harp". This symbol speaks to harmony and faith. When we find the balance in our lives and structure our time and energy to align with our priorities, things in our life run smoother., There is a sense of being in the flow and walking our path in harmony. Self-discipline isn't a punishment or a about being a drill sergeant to ourselves. Rather it is about giving the people and things that mean most to us the time and energy they need. It's about prioritizing what matters to us and making time for ourselves a priority. This Full Moon gives us an opportunity to examine the structures in our lives and see if they are actually supporting us.

New Moon in Gemini - New Possibilities

On Sunday June 14 we have a New Moon at 24 degrees of Gemini. New Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in the same sign and mark the start of the 28-day lunar cycle. This makes it a good time to set goals for the month as the conscious mind (the Sun) and the subconscious mind (the Moon) are working together. It is like we are planting a seed of intention at the start of the lunar cycle for it to grow as the Moon waxes in the sky. In the sign of Gemini, this can be a good time to set goals around communication, writing, learning or teaching, socializing and for short trips. Gemini is an air sign that loves to talk, make jokes and to socialize. It also encourages us to gather and share ideas. As this sign can be somewhat quick and changeable, it is a good idea to focus on short term goals, rather than lengthy ones.

Moonology Oracle

This New Moon is unaspected, which gives it a lot of possibility and a sense of freedom. With no other planets putting stress on the lunation, it leaves us more freedom to act without restraints. There is a loose aspect with Saturn in Aries, which helps to give structure and a sense of realism to our goals. However, the aspect is quite wide and is supportive, rather than restrictive. This is also the first New Moon in Gemini since Uranus moved into the sign earlier this year. It is too far away to form a conjunction, but its co-presence in Gemini gives a sense of possibility and a desire to break out of routine and look for inspiration. This is a great New Moon to try something new or to make goals around shaking things up and doing things differently. There is a sense of innovation and experimentation now.

The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is "A Man Trimming Palms". This symbol is about the need to prune and constrain wildness at times if we want to grow a healthy garden. It is the same with the goals we plant now as we cannot do everything at once as we will scatter our energy. It is also important that we have some kind of structure or routine so that we don't get carried away with an idea without any action. Ideas without practical efforts come to nothing and remain fantasies. Its good to shake things up and try something new, but remember that we don't have to reinvent the wheel or do things alone. We learn from those who have gone before and get help from others if needed.

This is a great New Moon for setting goals around friendship, socializing, short trips and writing projects. It is a lighthearted New Moon and one that opens our minds to possibilities, and encourages us to have fun and try something new.

Top 5 Themes of Chiron in Taurus

On June 19 Chiron moves into Taurus after being in Aries since 2018. Chiron is a dwarf planet discovered in 1977, located between Saturn and Uranus. As such he is a bridge between the planets we can see with the naked eye, representing known boundaries, and the outer planets, which represent generational and cosmic influences. In mythology Chiron is an immortal centaur who is taught medicine and healing, and who helps many with his gifts.  However, he himself becomes wounded with a poison arrow. His suffering is so great he asks for death, and Jupiter grants him his wish but places the constellation Sagittarius in the sky in honour of him. Chiron's story shows that he represents our wounds, especially those we receive when we are young, but also our ability to heal them and in doing so to help others.

Astro Codes Oracle

Chiron's orbit is elliptical, so he spends more time in some signs than others. Chiron's orbit lasts about 51 years, so at this age we get our "Chiron return". This marks a time when we are asked to reflect on the past and heal any unresolved issues from when we were younger. For those born from 1976 - 1984 (give or take a few months due to retrogrades on the beginning and end of this period) this transit marks the start of your Chiron return. He will be in Taurus until 2034, except for when he retrogrades back into Aries from Sept 17, 2026 until he moves into Taurus for good on April 14, 2027. This summer we get a preview, a trailer if you will, of what the next 8 years of Chiron in Taurus will bring us. Here are some themes I expect to see.

  1. Financial Issues. While Chiron in Aries highlighted issues around identity and identity politics, the next few years will focus heavily on finances and the gap between the ultra-rich and everyone else. Class dynamics between the haves and the have-nots will become more prominent. The last two times Chiron was in Taurus was from 1926 - 1933 and 1976 -1984. The late twenties and early thirties saw the excess of the roaring twenties come crashing down and the beginning of the Great Depression. It also saw the rise of socialism and the New Deal. The late seventies and early eighties saw the oil crisis, and the rise of Reagan and Thatcher with its trickle down economics and union busting. I expect to see some of these themes to repeat again. How can we heal our economy so it serves everyone and not just those at the very top?

  2. Reassessment of Values. While the Chiron in Aries period was marked by identity politics and some over identifying with narrow categories, this era may see a focus on materialism, with some mistaking their worth for the number in their bank account. Chiron invites us to heal an old wound, but some will refuse the invitation and get caught up in defending it. There will be some who confuse material riches with inner wealth and end up wondering why they feel empty and alone. Think of the Great Gatsby from a previous Chiron in Taurus period. For those that meet the challenge, there will be a reassessment of where they spend their time, money and energy. Simplifying things and focusing on what is most important rather than on trying to keep up with the Jones' or the Kardashians will serve one better.

  3. Reallocation of Resources. Taurus rules the material realm including natural resources. Not only are we seeing a widening gap between the ultra-rich and everyone else when it comes to finances, we also see a grab for natural resources. Billionaires are trying to grab land, water and electricity to fund their mega data centers and we see communities fighting back. In the US protected areas are being sold for forestry and mining. There is a sense that natural resources which should be for everyone and managed well is becoming gobbled up to serve the few. One of the tasks of this time period is to fight for a more even distribution of wealth and natural resources so that we can all benefit for generations to come.

  4. The Material World vs the Digital. When Pluto moved into Aquarius in 2023 we saw the rise of AI and robotic and surveillance technology. This is the age of the tech oligarchs, but it is important to remember that Pluto in Aquarius also brings rebellion and revolution. The first few years of Chiron in Taurus will see Chiron making a square to Pluto, showing tensions between the material realm and the emerging digital technologies. Already we see communities fighting back against large data centers and their environmental and health impacts. We will also see a tension between those who value handmade goods and physical media, and those who embrace AI and want it to take over.

  5. A Focus on the Environment. Chiron in Taurus asks us to get back to nature and to find healing in the natural world. The last two Chiron in Taurus periods saw the creation of the National Park system in the 1920s and 30s, and a greater emerging environmental movement of the 1970s and 80s. I expect to see an increasing awareness of the environmental impact we are having on the earth and people wanting to foster a greater connection with the natural world around them.

The next few months will give us a preview of the themes of Chiron in Taurus. We will see how they play out and if some come into focus more than others. In our own lives we are asked to heal issues around scarcity, finances and any beliefs of lack or worthiness. This is a good time to take stock of our values and how we spend our time, money and energy. Do they match our values or do we need to realign? This is also a time to get in touch with nature, making things with our hands and enjoying the physical realm. This is also a time when we may be asked to become more involved with community issues around resources, the environment or social welfare.

Blue Moon in Sagittarius - A Golden Opportunity

On Sunday May 31 we have a rare Blue Moon in the sign of Sagittarius. A Blue Moon is the second full moon in a month, a once in every two- or three-year occurrence. Thus, the saying "once in a blue moon" to mean something that happens rarely. Blue Moons are considered to be extra powerful, due to their rareness. This one is at 9 degrees of Sagittarius, a sign that is about expansiveness, adventure and big ideas. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs, and are a time of culmination, choices and heightened emotion. With the Sun in Gemini, we have been focused on socializing, sharing ideas, communication and small adventures. The Full Moon in Sag comes along to remind us to look at the big picture, to dream big and plan for bigger and bolder adventures. This is a time to have fun and expand our view of the world.

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon is supported by a trine to Saturn in Aries and a sextile with Pluto in Aquarius. Saturn brings structure and material support to our big plans and goals. We are being asked to dream big, but not to leave it in the realm of fantasy. Saturn in Aries encourages us to take concrete action to make those big ideals real. What steps can we take today to bring them into our everyday reality. Pluto assists us through changes in the wider world, particularly through new technologies, and community support. We cannot go backwards to the way things used to be but rather must adapt to the world and the changes it presents to us.

The Nodes are squaring the Blue Moon in Virgo and Pisces. The Nodes have associations with fate and karma. Changes that we make now have a sense of destiny to them. You may feel both a push to make changes and move forward, but also a desire to resist and stay in our comfort zone. The North Node in Pisces pushes us to think spiritually and to imagine possibilities, while the South Node in Virgo fusses over the details and may hinder us by giving us excuses as to why the changes feel too big to make. It's important to remember that you have been through changes before and can handle it again. By giving your Virgo side a step-by-step list, this can help to alleviate any feelings of resistance or anxiety.

Also, on this day, Mercury in Gemini makes a sextile with Chiron in Aries. This aspect brings us important messages around healing old wounds, particularly around our sense of self and identity. We are given an opportunity to express ourselves authentically now. You may be the person who helps another, or you may receive a healing message yourself. Watch for what triggers you or what resonates on this day as the Universe is bringing important messages now to help you move forward.

The Sabian Symbol for this Blue Moon is "A Golden Goddess of Opportunity." This is a perfect symbol for our optimistic Sagittarius Blue Moon. Not only is it a powerful lunation, but it is a lucky one where fate is pushing us to grow, and we are being supported by the Universe in making bold changes. This symbol speaks to the power of following our own destiny and speaking our truth. We are being asked to listen to our hearts and dream big. To challenge ourselves to step out of routine and our comfort zone to answer our destiny.

New Moon in Taurus - A Lightbulb Moment

On Saturday May 11 we have a New Moon at 25 degrees of Taurus. New Moons are the start of the lunar cycle and are considered a good time for planting seeds of goals and intentions. As the Moon grows in the sky over the next two weeks, so will your intention. It is also when the Sun and Moon are in the same sign, so represents both the active and receptive parts of ourselves working together. Taurus rules, finances, values, wealth and nature. The Taurus New Moon can be a great time for setting goals around money, overall prosperity, and anything to do with the body or nature, including gardening and pets.

Moonology Oracle

This New Moon is conjunct Mercury, who is right at the end of Taurus and just about to join Uranus at 0 degrees of Gemini. Mercury is the divine messenger, so this New Moon will bring some important messages to us. A light bulb of inspiration or realization goes off and we see things from a new perspective. There may be revelations around what we value and how our own or others' actions do or do not align anymore. This is further emphasized by Uranus being conjunct the New Moon. Even though it is in the next sign, Gemini, it is only a few degrees away. Expect some surprising news or sudden changes. Whatever Mercury and Uranus' messages are for you this New Moon, it won't be boring. Adding to this is Jupiter which is making a sextile in Cancer. Jupiter brings luck and in this aspect says that there is opportunity in whatever surprising news comes our way.

While the New Moon looks to be overall favourable, it is closely conjunct the fixed star Algol, at 26 degrees of Taurus. This fixed star is sometimes called the "demon star" or the "head of Medusa". This star has associations with beheading, assassinations and falls from power. Coupled with Mercury and Uranus in conjunction with the New Moon, I am expecting that we will hear some shocking news about people in power around this time. In our own lives, this may not necessarily be anything dramatic but watch for sudden departures or surprising news. Whatever it is, it is best to not resist it, and allow what needs to go  to leave now, as it is for the best in the long run.

The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is "A Spanish Man Serenading His Lover." This speaks to our ability not only to woo another, but to gently encourage projects and goals to blossom in our lives. In order to bring good things in, we must carefully nurture and sing the praises of whatever we wish to grow in our lives. Gentleness and positivity will do more to bring things along now, than forcefulness or trying to rush things. It is important that we bring patience and a sense of creativity and even romance to whatever we do.

Overall this New Moon will bring surprising news, a sense of clarity and even inspiration. It is important that we stay open to change and to the messages the Universe is bringing us. While the changes may feel shocking, it is something that is part of moving us forward to better things.

Six Planets in Aries - Fire in the Sky

This April brings us a powerful triple conjunction of Mercury, Mars and Saturn in the fiery sign of Aries on April 20. While conjunctions of Mercury and Mars usually happen once a year, and Mars Saturn conjunctions happen every two years, it is rare to have all three together. It is also important to note that Neptune is close to this conjunction, being only a few degrees away, so could be considered to be part of the conjunction too. In fact from April 14 - 19 we have five planets (Sun, Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Neptune) in the sign of Aries. There's also a New Moon in Aries on the 17, making a total of six planets in Aries!

Astro Codes Oracle

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and is associated with youthfulness, optimism, new beginnings, leadership and taking action. It is ruled by the planet of war, Mars, so is also associated with aggression, the military, sports and fire, explosions and violence. When used in a positive way, this can bring courage and action to our lives that allows us to make new starts or to break free of difficulty. When not used carefully, this much Aries energy can bring accidents, aggression and even an escalation of conflicts and war.

We started April with the Sun in Aries as it always is at this time of year. We also have both Neptune and Saturn which recently moved into the sign and formed an exact conjunction on February 20th. As Saturn and Neptune are only a few degrees apart, they are still considered to be affecting each other. Neptune is about our collective dreams and ideals, and in Aries the themes of heroism, idealizing war, self-sufficiency, individualism, fitness and masculinity become prominent. The last time Neptune was in Aries was the 1860s, a time when the cowboy and pioneer were seen as ideals. However, this is also a time when war was idealized, and that image of heroism was shattered when the new technology of photography showed how brutal war really was. Saturn in Aries is also a time when there is more emphasis on the military and war, as Saturn is an organizing planet, so it favours the hierarchy and structure of the military.

On April 09 Mars moves into his home sign of Aries bringing a sense of action and forward momentum, but also aggression and even potentially violence. In the wider world, I am expecting to see an escalation or widening of existing conflicts, or even new ones emerging. In our own lives, remember that this week is volatile so avoid risky behaviors, or reacting in anger or starting a fight as it may become bigger than you anticipated. Mars conjoins Neptune on April 12, bringing delusion and misinformation into the picture. There may be confusion and even deception around a military action or violence. In our personal lives it is important now to wait until you have all the information before you act as you may be reacting to false information or blaming the wrong person for something they didn't do.

Mercury joins the Aries party on April 14. As the planet of communication and travel he brings some much needed directness and clarity to our communications after spending almost two months in imaginative but vague Pisces. We may also find that we are making more short trips and getting more errands done. The danger of Mercury in Aries is we can be too blunt or even a little cutting in our words, so try to slow down and think before speaking. Mercury then joins up with Neptune on April 16. Mercury and Neptune is about misinformation and deception, and in Aries this may show up as people deliberately trying to mislead others or take advantage of confusion. With the New Moon in Aries on April 17 I expect to see the start of some kind of aggressive action on the world stage, and the conjunction of Mercury and Neptune close to this brings in an element of surprise or even a false flag event.

April 19 and 20 are the most intense days, as on Mars conjoins Saturn on the 19th and then Mercury joins both planets on the 20th. Mars and Saturn are opposite energies with Mars wanting to speed things up and Saturn wanting to restrict and slow things down. This has been compared to having one foot on the gas and one on the brake. It can bring frustration as we try to take action and move forward while other forces hold us back.  As this is in the sign of Aries, Mars had the upper hand but will not get its way without resistance. Add Mercury into the mix and there is the potential for angry words leading to violence or for fiery disasters. In our own lives it cautions us against knee jerk reactions, losing our temper or trying to force things to go a certain way. Doing so now could have disastrous consequences.

Please note this is not all doom and gloom, rather a warning that the period of April 09 - 20 is somewhat volatile, so you can avoid the more negative possibilities like deception, or losing our tempers, or aggression and accidents. It is also to prepare you that this time period may see more difficult developments in the wider world. After the 19th things cool down with the Sun moving into earthy and pleasure-loving Taurus. Mercury and Mars will start moving away from their conjunctions with each other and the slower moving Saturn and Neptune. If anything, try to use the Aries energy of this time to bring courage and action into areas that you may have felt stuck or that you have doubts and fears about.

Lunar Eclipse in Virgo - Truth and Chaos (Mar 03, 2026)

On March 03 there will be a Lunar Eclipse at 12 degrees of Virgo. Eclipses occur in pairs twice a year, with each eclipse being two weeks apart of the other. For example, on February 17 we had a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, and now we will have a Lunar Eclipse as part of that pair. The next pair of eclipses will be in August and September later this year. Lunar Eclipses occur when the shadow of the Earth falls over the Moon, giving it a red appearance, which is why it is sometimes also called a "blood moon". Although eclipses are only visible over certain places on Earth at any given time, the eclipse can still affects us, especially if it touches points in our birth chart.

Moonology Oracle

Eclipses are times when shifts and changes happen, a time of big beginnings and endings. The changes don't always happen right on the date but can be within two weeks of either eclipse. Lunar eclipses tend to reveal hidden information. Secrets and things done in the shadows are now exposed. This particular Lunar Eclipse is in Virgo, a sign that has to do with health care, employment, food and young women. There could be scandals around health issues, working conditions or food production. We also may hear more information from the Epstein files or other similar abuses. We also just had a Mercury retrograde start in Virgo's opposite sign, Pisces. Mercury retrogrades can also bring secrets light which will add to this energy of exposing hidden matters.

This eclipse has some very helpful aspects as it is trine Uranus in Taurus and sextile Jupiter in Cancer. Jupiter is about expansion and luck and in Cancer it is about protecting and nurturing what is important to us. This shows that whatever information is being revealed will help us to expand protections for the vulnerable and for what we want to protect and nurture. Uranus is the planet of chaos and sudden change. The trine with the Lunar Eclipse points to there being shocking news or events that shake things up. However this will ultimately be helpful. It encourages us that whatever upsets and changes are going on now will lead to beneficial changes and that it is important that the truth comes out.

The Sabian Symbol for this Lunar Eclipse is "A Strong Hand Supplanting Political Hysteria". This shows that there may be chaos and confusion surrounding events during this eclipse. It is important that we keep a clear head and rise above fear and misinformation. This is a time when we must set the example and lead the way. It also says that there may be leaders with a vision who will emerge to help us. We must be careful and not fall for those who would look to seize power during a time of chaos for their own gain, but look to those with values and morals that are in the highest interest of all.

Top 5 tips for Mercury Retrograde in Pisces (Feb 25 - Mar 20, 2026)

Mercury retrograde is probably the best known and most infamous astrological transit known to the public. Ten years ago you would be hard pressed to find someone outside of astrologers who knew about it, but now even those with only a passing interest are aware of it. It's been blamed for causing accidents, misinformation and computer crashes. And while this is partially true, it is not the whole story. Mercury retrograde is nothing to fear, it's all about working with the energy rather than against it.

Astro Codes Oracle

Mercury retrogrades happen three times a year and are usually in the same element. This year all three are in the water signs, with the one this month entirely in the sign of Pisces. The retrograde starts on Feb.25 at 28 degrees of Pisces and ends on Mar.20 at 8 degrees of Pisces. If you have Pisces placements in your chart between these degrees, you will be more impacted by this retrograde than others. Pisces is a sign that is sensitive, emotional, imaginative and spiritual, but can also be wishy-washy and escape into fantasy. Below are my top five pieces of advice for navigating the waters of this Pisces Mercury retrograde.

  1. Expect Travel Delays. This is a pretty standard piece of advice for any Mercury retrograde. With this one occurring in the sign of Pisces, I am expecting it to affect ocean travel the most. There may be issues around cruises and travel disruptions for beach and tropical locations. There could also be an increase in storms causing travel disruptions. Shipping items overseas may experience delays and there may be an increase in nautical accidents or oil spills. As with any Mercury retrograde, build in extra time and be flexible in your schedule.

  2. Watch Out For Vagueness. Communication breakdowns are common during a Mercury retrograde. In Pisces it is often due to a lack of clarity and details. We think we have explained our idea fully but we really haven't. Or someone assumes we've understood them when we only have a general notion of what they mean. Make sure you are asking clarifying questions and try to be as clear as you can yourself. Most of the time it is just a matter of a misunderstanding, however, watch out for those deliberately being vague. Some may try to lead others astray with misinformation or disinformation now.

  3. Avoid Escaping into Fantasy or Nostalgia. A little fantasy and escape can be good for the soul. As can be a trip down memory lane. Mercury retrogrades can bring up issues from the past, and with Pisces bent toward fantasy, this can lead us to over romanticizing the past or living too much in our imagination. It's important that we learn the lessons from the past and not gloss things over, and to make sure we are living in the here and now.

  4. Review Old Spiritual and Creative Interests. Sometimes Mercury retrograde can help us pick up an old hobby or interest and revamp it or look at it in a new light. Pisces is associated with the spiritual and imaginative. This could be a good time to get back into meditating or to pick up the deck of tarot cards you meant to learn or to revisit a previous spiritual practice. Pisces also has associations with the arts like dance, music, poetry and photography, so it is also a good time to revisit any old interests in these areas.

  5. Connect With Old Friends. Sometimes a Mercury retrograde can bring old friends back into our lives. Mercury is the messenger and in retrograde he sometimes brings old friends back to us or new information about them. This is also a time when secrets may get revealed, especially as the first half of Mercury retrograde is in eclipse season, a time when hidden information can come to light.

Mercury retrograde is nothing to fear. While the delays and miscommunications can be annoying, they can also be an opportunity to slow down and take another look at things. So go with the flow, take another look at old hobbies and connect with your spirituality and imagination. You never know, you might discover a renewed passion for an old interest or connect with someone you haven't seen in a long time.

Saturn Conjunct Neptune - World Changing Events

On February 13 2026, Saturn enters Aries, where he will be until April of 2028. Saturn changes sign every two and a half years or so, and shows us where we need to work hard, be disciplined and where we may find more restrictions or things slowing down. Saturn takes 28 - 30 years to make his way around the zodiac, so the last time he was in this sign was April 1996 - February 1999. What's different about this go round is that Saturn will be meeting up with Neptune on February 20, something that only happens every 36 years.

Astro Codes Oracle

Saturn and Neptune have very opposite energies. While Saturn is about rules, structures and reality checks, Neptune is about our collective dreams, ideals and illusions. Saturn is the rocky fortress, and Neptune is the waves that crash against it. When the two planets meet up in a conjunction, Neptune dissolves the structures that Saturn has so carefully built. Think back to the last time this happened in 1989, in the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is about boundaries, walls and physical structures. In 1989 an actual physical wall, the Berlin Wall came down. Along with it the Eastern European countries broke away from communism and the Soviet Union collapsed. A structure and a dream we always thought would be there disappeared.

This time the Saturn, Neptune conjunction is at 0 degrees of Aries. This very important as this is the start of the zodiac. The shift that we are seeing is not just once every 36 years but extremely unusual and marks the start of a whole new era. It is important to keep in mind that there may not be dramatic events right on the day, but perhaps either leading up to or shortly after. It may also start as something small that becomes much bigger over time. Whether it is in our face or gradual, we will look back at this time as one of profound change. Below are the top 5 themes I see as likely to emerge during this conjunction.

  1. Things Fall Apart. When Saturn and Neptune meet up, things we took for granted can disappear. Saturn likes stability and rules, but Neptune comes in to clear the slate and wash things away. Often this is long overdue, as the structures Saturn built may appear solid from the outside, but have been rotting on the inside for a while.  The Soviet Union projected an image of a superpower, but with its military over expanded, its economy on shaky foundations and with corruption and lack of public trust, it collapsed quickly when people in Eastern Europe stood up to it. The Saturn Neptune conjunction often coincides with major power shifts in Russia (Fall of Berlin Wall 1989, Death of Stalin 1953, Russian Revolution 1917). It remains to be seen if this pattern continues. This time around it appears to be the US that is crumbling in the same manner as the USSR. How this falls out we will have to see. But one thing is for sure, something we thought would last, will dissolve.

  2. Chaos and Confusion. When something falls apart, it is inevitable that something new will emerge from the ashes. This Saturn Neptune conjunction is in the fiery sign of Aries. This makes me wonder if we will see something literally burning up or exploding, or if this represents a sudden quick breakdown. After the last conjunction in 1989, there was a period where things were uncertain in the former Soviet Union and Eastern European countries. No one knew what would come next, what would replace the old structures. With Saturn co present with Neptune in Aries until April 2028, I expect the next two years to be ones marked by some uncertainty.

  3. A Spell in Broken. Neptune represents our collective ideals and dreams, but also our illusions. When he meets up with Saturn, it can be as if a fog lifts off of us and we see things as they truly are. For a moment we get a glimpse behind the curtain and see that the emperor has no clothes, or that the wizard's power is all smoke and mirrors. We are seeing this now with the revelations of the Epstein files. We are seeing how the billionaire class acts with impunity and how a shady network of spies use and exploit the vulnerable to coerce politicians and advance their masters' power.

  4. Religious Paranoia. An interesting correlation with Saturn in Neptune is the fear of secret societies or cults. At the last conjunction, we had the height of the "Satanic Panic" which turned out to be false, but led to people being accused of child abuse and losing their jobs or even going to jail. In 1953 we had the McCarthy ear and the Red Scare, where people feared communism was everywhere. There was also an aspect of this during the 1917 conjunction when there was a fear of anarchists and communists. Today we are seeing a repeat of this in the US with evangelical groups seeing secular culture as evil and defining politics as spiritual warfare.

  5. A Chance to Dream a New Dream. All this talk of things falling apart, and illusions being dispelled can be scary. When the old rules don't apply anymore, it gives us a chance to re-imagine something new. No longer are we stuck in a rut, or able to use the excuse that nothing will ever change. When the old and outdated are swept away, we have the opportunity to dream a new dream and start fresh again. Lets hope this time, we can replace it with something better for everyone.

As we consider the Saturn Neptune conjunction, I want to place it in the context of the other astrology this year. Firstly, this occurs during eclipse season, as we have a Solar Eclipse on Feb.17 and a Lunar Eclipse on March 03. Eclipses are often associated with rise and fall of leaders, and with hidden information being revealed. This adds another layer to this historic aspect. We also have Uranus moving into Gemini in April, where he will be until 2033. Uranus in Gemini has previously coincided with the US being at war, both internally (the Civil War) and externally (WW2). All these factors seem to be pointing towards big changes not just for the US, but the world. What are your thoughts about the upcoming Saturn Neptune conjunction?

Full Moon in Gemini - Spiritual Downloads

On Tuesday December 04, we have a Full Moon at 13 degrees of Gemini. Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs and represent a point of heightened emotions, choice or balance. The Sun in Sagittarius asks us to think about our beliefs and big ideas like politics, religion, and philosophy, It is a sign associated with long distance travel, higher education and adventure. When the Sun is in Sagittarius we are asked to think about our dreams for the coming year and how we want to expand our minds, through things like travel and education. The Moon in Gemini is about details and the facts. It's great to have big ideas, but how are you going to actually carry them out? What are the details you need to attend to in order to make them happen? Gemini also reminds us that communication and facts are important. We can have a belief, but is it grounded in truth, or is it based off of fanatasy? This Full Moon we are asked to balance the fine details with our big overall goals.

Moonology Oracle

This Full Moon does not have a lot of aspects to it, except that it is square the Nodes. The Nodes are not objects in the sky, but rather calculation points of where the Sun and Moon's paths cross, and are used to calculate eclipses. The South Nodes represent the past, our comfort zones and our accumulated karma. The North Node represents the future, being pushed outside of our comfort zone and our sense of purpose. The South Node shows us what to let go of and the North Node where we are being pushed to expand. The Full Moon squaring the Nodes (who are always exactly opposite each other) creates a grand cross between the Sun, Moon and the Nodes. This is a point of tension where we are asked to embrace an entirely new spiritual perspective (North Node in Pisces) and let go of needing to have all the details planned out in advance (South Node in Virgo). This Full Moon brings new ways of understanding that cannot be explained by logic alone. We may experience something that profoundly alters our point of view. This could be a big event, a sudden ending, or even just a subtle internal shift It may not feel like much at the time, but can have lasting impact for the future.

The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is "A Telepathic Conversation". This symbol speaks to the mystical and profound way intuition works. Sometimes we just know something, even though we logically shouldn't. No one has verbally told us or written it down, and yet we just know. This Full Moon is a time when many of us will receive what new agers often call "spiritual downloads". Wisdom and deep insight are more likely now. We are asked to be open to both the big profound Sagittarian ideas and the small Gemini details around us. Both of these will provide opportunity for us to see things from a new, more spiritual point of view.

New Moon in Scorpio - Insights and Dreams

On Thursday November 20 we have a New Moon at 28 degrees of Scorpio. New Moons occur when the Sun and Moon are in the same sign and are a time to set goals and start something new. This New Moon is in the sign of Scorpio which rules the deeper aspects of life like psychology, sexuality, magic and mysticism. This is a great time to set goals for personal work like therapy, shadow work, psychic development or learning divination. Scorpio also rules long term finances and debts, so it is a good time to set goals around investing or paying down debts. Scorpio is not about get rich quick schemes or short cuts to self development. Any goals set during the Scorpio New Moon are ones that ask us to commit and go deep.

Moonology Oracle

This New Moon is an active an powerful one as we have multiple aspects occurring, including with the outer planets and Mercury in retrograde. The Sun and New Moon are conjunct Mercury, marking the half way point of the retrograde period. This is often accompanied by a profound insight as to what the message of the retrograde period is for you. Mercury retrograde in Scorpio often reveals secrets and brings up uncomfortable information that was hidden away. We may hear something surprising that reveals to us a deeper layer of insight to an issue or brings to light a dark secret. Further confirming this is that the New Moon is opposite Uranus, the planet of chaos, sudden change and inspiration. Uranus brings surprises that sometimes inspire us and at other times shake us up. As it is opposite this usually shows up as external events that force us to reassess things or approach an old issue in a new way.

The New Moon is being helped by Saturn and Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer, making for a lovely trine in the element of water. Saturn in Pisces may lend a certain melancholy or sombreness to the situation, but also encourages us to work within the limitations of reality. Neptune in Pisces encourages us to dream big and think of our ideals, which can be helpful when we may be feeling shocked or overwhelmed. Try to avoid the temptation to escape into fantasy or overindulgence to avoid dealing with difficulties now. Jupiter helps in this situation too, bringing optimism and a desire to nurture and protect who and what we care about. If we can hold on to our dreams and nurture ourselves while facing whatever new truth we are being dealt with, we may be able to make some profound changes in the future.

The tarot card for this New Moon is the Seven of Cups. This card often features a person facing seven cups each containing a different item like treasure, a castle, a snake, a veiled head etc. Each of these represent different ideals and goals to strive for that the individual must choose from. There are times in life when we may be tempted to choose the thing that looks good, but isn't actually good for us, or to pick what everyone else is in order to fit in. The Seven of Cups reminds us to listen to our intuition and our heart and to take a step back and consider things before making a decision. It tells us to pay attention to the signs and to listen to the messages of our nighttime dreams and daytime fantasies. This New Moon will bring us new insights and revelations that we will need time to consider before taking next steps or making any commitments. For now, see what surfaces, absorb the new information and take care of yourself and others. This is the time to plan and dream, but not yet to act.
